Soooo, is Eris evil or what?
So I'm sure I'm not the only one that is a little suspicious about Eris Morn and her recent appearances in TTK. Hell even Cayde-6 has a dialogue about himself not trusting her...
So community, does anyone have any theories on Eris Morn and what her whole deal is ? Feel free to share opinions !

Eris is probably one of the Oryx's sisters in disguise. As she tricked us into becoming ascendant and becoming feeders of tribute to Oryx. After all we are infused with the soul of his son.

Maybe Eris turned on her fireteam and killed them and she is actually evil.

If anything I'm surprised she came out of all that as good as she did. Honestly, the fact that she isn't barking at the traveler and running around licking all the doorknobs in the tower is a pretty good sign.

1 ReplyWe blew up her ship but she got to the crystal on the dreadnaught after we killed oryx. I don't trust her. Also if she can use darkness to transport people, like us in the last rights mission where we devour crotas essence, and due to her obsession with the queen I wonder if she did anything to get Mara Sov out of there?

1 ReplyMaybe Eris has a Hive worm inside of her. She was blinded, her ghost was destroyed and she was alone in Crota's realm. She could have encountered a worm that offered her a chance to survive. The worm offers her sight, knowledge and power, but she has to feed it by killing. She kills the Hive for a decade, but soon her ability to kill is not enough to feed the worm's ever growing hunger. She returns to the Tower with loot she collected during her years among the Hive, and she offers it to guardians that kill on her behalf. Now she has the guardians out there killing Hive and feeding her worm. They eventually kill Crota, and so Eris seeks out the help of the awoken to take down a bigger threat: Oryx. Eventually the Hive and their gods won't be enough. Someday Eris will look outside and decide that the only way to feed the worm is to tear into the Traveller and start devouring it's Light. Or not. She could just be some crazy lady.

Am I the only one a bit confused as to why Eris is able to use Warlock spells and a large part of Tolands tricks of the trade with such ease? I get she was Tolands student at one point in time right? Thats the way it seems. The end of TTK is odd to because there are a lot of lost guardian references and then the crystal thing with Eris was off puttinf I think if anything Eris would be a hard fight for the Destiny world if she goes dark side but I also got a sense from Veriks he might slide in as Kell of HOW idk if anyone went through those TTK quests yet I haven't finished them.

There is a grimoire card where she is reporting to Osiris, who is an outcast from the tower, though not necessarily bad.

Playing through TTK she has an advanced knowledge of everything the Hive do, so if she wasn't hidden viewing this, she walked among them as one of them. If you have read any guardian lore, guardians do not eat or have any normal human characteristics, they even bleed light, so that being said, Eris did not have to eat any of the worms, but who knows with the whole thing that her eyes may make her see things that are different than our reality. She basically lived in hell for 10 years and no one from the tower really even cared. Given that position, why wouldn't you hate the vanguard? Beyond that, the ending cut scene was questionable, but it turns out Eris gave you the shard of the blade that she took from Oryx's sword because Lord Shaxx asks why or what do you intend to do with it. Also Cayde-6 has several dialog pieces where he doesn't trust Eris.

She I believe has similar abilities to Oryx. Also think she is either under control or really lived under the hive and does not fully remember.

1 ReplyThe more I listen to Eris, the more I start to talk like here... everything relating to the hive drive me insane. Whether it's trying to figure at the Lore behind them or wondering how the work. It causes insanity. I think Eris Morn causes corruption in the brains of people, slowly. I think I took an extra beating because I replayed Regicide and Siege of the Warmind to much. There are fingertips on the surface of MY mind. I just hope Oryx's sisters don't come at us for revenge. I might as well just turn into a Vex and exterminate every Hive in existence.
