From the bungie news post
In accordance with forum prophecy, The Three of Coins that Xûr sells are slightly modified:
Each of them provides a smaller increase to Exotic Engram drop chance when used in rapid succession
When used with more time between kills (for example, on Strike bosses), they remain as effective as before

So what are you saying?

Edited by Yartoum: 9/24/2015 7:31:54 PMMaybe you dont undestand why they made this change People were exploiting the drop increase by running a mission which has an ultra boss. They would create a murder/suicide situation by killing the boss at close range with a rocket launcher. The boss would die and drop an engram. However, since you also died at the same time the mission would fail. The player is respawned at the last chexk pint which is right before the boss fight. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat People were faming large amount of engrams from this This is what they mean by rapid succession. Running the game as normal no matter if its a mission, strike, raid whatever will produce normal increase in the drop rate. Rapidly killing the same boss over and over as explained above will contunially decrease the drop rate.

I know all of that. It's just the hot fix notes gave a vague description of the changes.

Not realy, maybe you need to work on your reading comprehension Its pretty clear. Rapidly kill bosses the buff goes down. Run strikes etc as normal it stays the same.
-
Can you read? It sais running normal strikes will produce the normal increase in loot drops What part of that is so hard to understand?
-
If you do Strikes, the coins will work just as they did before this hot fix.
-
Where are you getting this information from?
-
They said it in the Weekly update
-
But what is considered rapid succession? Will playing the VG strikes normally yield the same results? Minus popping one before and in between shield brothers.

Since strike bosses is apecifically adressed as peoducing normal drop rate, then yes running vg strikes will produce a normal increase to your drop rate The rapid succession means to stop the exploit where people were running a story mission which has a ultra boss, then committing murder/suicide by killing it a very close range with a rocket. The boss drops an engram, you respawn right outside his door, then you do it again. People were doing this to farm exotic engrams
