Design and 3D modeling

Hello, I am interested in going into the Game Creation and Design field and was wondering what 3D modeling and animation program you use in Destiny for the actual game-play and the cut-scenes. I have been working/messing around with a program called Blender and have been trying to find a better 3D modeling program (not that Blender is bad). I have been looking into Autocad Maya and 3DS Max, but was wondering what you guys use and if it is publicly available or not, and if it is what the cost on getting the program would be. Thanks for your time.

  • Maya is the industry standard, but it'll set you back about €3000.

If you can get your hands on a copy of Maya, it's about the best there is for modeling and animation. Likewise, it has features that work with unreal engine 4, which is free and can create almost any kind of game you desire with spectacular graphics. Bungie cooks their own engine, and it was released with Halo 2 for PC. You can't get your hands on any later version. But it's way clunkier than most others anyway.
