This has probably already been said in this thread but destiny is a 10 year FRANCHISE, meaning there are going to be multiple titles in the series with multiple dlc packs per game. Considering that work is already happening on destiny 2 I'm gonna go ahead and guess the well get another 2 or 3 dlc releases before destiny 2 is close to wrapping up. Halo was a 10 year franchise as well, it had the same setup. Multiple entries with multiple dlcs ( mostly map packs.) I don't know why people think that the game we're currently playing is going to be the only one over the next 9 years.

Destiny is not a 10 year franchise. Bungie signed a 10 year publishing agreement with Activision to make Destiny. That was in 2010, Bungie is already almost 6 years into that agreement. [url]http://documents.latimes.com/bungie-activision-contract/[/url]

Ok then my mistake. Still, 4 more years of devolpement I see at least 2 more destiny title releases. If not that then definately one more release. And destiny 2 is already announced, and entire new game. Most likely with new content that is fresh.

In the contract it says there will be 4 main games, 4 "comet" releases (Large DLC Like TTK); and two DLC releases between each core game and "comet" release. Bungie also only agreed to support destiny until 3 years after the last "comet" release date which is fall 2020.

if Destiny 2 is anything like the 1st I think its safe to say that it will still pretty much just be a bunch of DLCs and at this point with the prices they are asking for for the TTC the 2nd Destiny mine as well be another expansion

I thought that they said they were going to make destiny in the same sort of way most mmo's are. It's the one game but with many expansions released I personally have no issue with this. (Correct me if I'm wrong pls)

The original plan was to release base game, then release two dlc packs, then release a larger dlc pack, followed by two more regular dlc packs and then release the sequel and the cycle begins anew. All of this may have changed though, but so far it is following the pattern.

No they did mention Destiny 2 and what not but I just don't recall them stating that many of this 10 years of content will only be achievable through many expansions

Naw your right they never said that only thing they said was that it was a ten year franchise and their will be sequels
