how recently did you hear this? I remember when they said that "gjallerhorn will not be upgrading in the taken king" but the taken king is just the start of year 2 not the entirety of it. I'm 90% sure they said that all year 1 exotics will be upgraded throughout the year at some point. there is a chance that that is misinformation so I would go and do some fact checking before whining on a forum
