Most likely a large amount of you PS3 players like me have received error code 80710723. Bump so bungie can see
Edit: 15 comments so far. Keep me coming everyone! Get bungies attention
Edit 2: 50 replies and trending!!! Keep it up people bungie will eventually answer if we keep racking up the numbers!
Edit 3: we got a response from bungie and they know what error code we are receiving, thank you for all the bumps and replies people you may just speed this up for everyone <3
Edit 4: already got a bungie employees reply but now up to 100+ replies. Keep it up people they need to see we are not happy on playstation 3 and we deserve to enjoy to content like the rest of the gaming community
Edit 5: bungie these numbers are rising and Sony seems to be perfectly fine. Please take responsibility for the fact that your enterprise was not ready first off to allow this many people to download such a large update with very little servers to support it. I would recommend you communicate with your community and with Sony to fix these issues. You have a lot of unhappy customers
Edit 6: bungie stop throwing the blame at Sony please we all know you guys are to blame for this. I was able to update my dark souls without any issues, you need to get this fixed

Edited by tiagosocha: 9/9/2015 2:11:11 PMCOME ON BUNGIE, DO SOMETHING! Here in Brazil im having the error code 800233EF. Already try 5 different DNS, change MTU, erase all my saved data and NOTHING. And dont blame sony or my connection, yesterday i downloaded MGSV in less than 2 hours and also all the new patches to GTAV online, everything worked well except Destiny. We need a solution and we need it now!
-
stuck at 53%
-
I left the download on overnight and it was at 74% when I woke up. Guessing it was because no one else in my house was using the Internet. It got to 79% right before I left for school, hopefully it'll install while I'm here at school.

Yesterday a very slow download crashed at 3%, giving me the 800233EF error on my PS3. Since then everytime i try to start over the download almost inmediately crashes and keeps showing the same error . I have 327 GB free on my HDD, and of course I checked my connection: ethernet, ping 12 ms, 1.8 mbps DS, other games updating just fine. I tried everything, fixed IP, fixed DNS, uninstalling game contents, etc. I understood this could be happening on the launch day, but today? I'm pretty bothered by this.

spent 5 hours trying to download, furthest i ever got was 5%, and at one point had 125 minutes but failed soon after

Bump... fix this damn issue bungie...

Edited by DEET: 9/9/2015 1:29:19 PMErrored out 3 times yesterday. Started it around 3 am est again got to 23% and then it errored out. The only game saved on my console is star wars pinball. I have plenty of storage left. I will wait a few days and try again i guess. Im on ps3
-
I started downloading around 2:00 am Eastern Standard time, Wednesday morning. I thought I would be avoiding the rush. I thought wrong. I keep getting the error 80710723 also, mine will not get past 5%. I have plenty of hard drive space on my PS3. My internet is adequate, I don't have google fiber but it is plenty adequate. This is unacceptable. If you release an update, then you should have been prepared for everyone updating at the same time. Get more servers. This is a shining example of why I never buy digital games. I always buy them on disk.

Come on Bungie, I've been trying for 9+ hours now...

Edited by Kawaii Whale: 9/9/2015 1:16:37 PMReboot your console. Go to games. Press 'triangle' on destiny. Select check for update. Update. It should go faster and have little to none error codes
-
Edited by Kawaii Whale: 9/9/2015 12:13:06 PMStarted downloading at 2 pm pacific yesterday, went to bed at 11 pm and it was at 48%. Woke up to find an error code, now I am back at 1%
-
My download's time just keeps counting up and after about 40 minutes it reaches 800 minutes and 1% and then a few minutes later itll say I have that error and stop the download. This is ridiculous I have tried 4 different times but it hasnt worked and it even caused mt wifi to crash for about 15 minutes

ERROR CODE: 800233EF Expansion packs and the previous update worked without problems, but Destiny 2.0, OR "Update 1.13" are failing at 0% eveytime... Tried rebooting my modem, resetting to factory, changing network settings, changing PS profiles, NOTHING works!!! Yet i can update other games and download expansion packs without issues... Im NOT the only person with this issue, someone opened a forum on Playstations website on it... :) please, if anyone has a remedy, comment, mail, anything... It can only be Bungie's fault... everything but Destiny 2.0 update works perfectly. Cummon guys... this is super shitty...
-
I'm so fkn done it's been nearly 24hours I'm trying to download it it's a god damn joke . Bungie you better do something because you are going to loose so many customers so get shot down
-
Yep 3 so far
-
-
I was having that problem but now I just left it updating all night and now it is at 94% YAY and only 36 mins left.
-
Got a 6th error code overnight and it crashed my internet into not working.... Ridiculous fix dis. They instantly recognize Xbox errors but not PS3. Seems legit

People I got mine to download and I think what you have to do is disable the media server on your connection settings. This is all I did. I was using a wired connection but once I switched the media server off it downloaded much faster and actually finished. Took hours but worked.
