My problem is that i have reallyyyyy fast internet, 100 to 150 down, 60 up and around a 13ms ping and very little jitter. So i always see people lagging, with thier slow upload not updating the server with where they are. Bungie really needs to modify how much data is transmitted per packet or use a different compression codec. I monitor the router/modem and see that it is huge amounts being sent. Honestly the only way at this point to fix this is if everyone got a much faster internet, or bungie figured out a way to compress the info packets down some more. For now though, we all just have to enjoy a terrible pvp experience when you match with slow players...

  • The reason for this is "lag compensator" these days games use. They try to make it fair making better connection to worse so both players would be "equal level" connect wise, which leads better connection player really suffer because hes connection is manipulated. Giving actually the worse connection owning player the advantage.

  • You are correct with that. I was saying the compression needs changed so they dont need to compensate

  • Yeah I don't think you want 100 down or anything over 30 for that matter. Melt many people have over 30 usually so the speed discrepancy is being compensated and you may see lag from what I can tell.

  • You don't need 60 up for PVP, it is mainly down to ping and how their P2P matchmaking works. if you have 1000 up but get match-made with someone 9 hours flight away from you it won't matter if it is P2P.
