Hi, so I purchased Destiny the Game probably two weeks before it came out over a year ago, really enjoyed the game so much that I got all the achievements. I was talking to my friends and decided to purchase The Digital Collectors edition on Saturday and after i purchased the game I was not able to launch the Vanilla Destiny. I had already bought and owned on my playstation 3 account the original game and all of its dlc. It kept giving me the error saying it wasn't released for my region. I have already contacted Playstation support and they told me to clean my ps3 using the safe mode, didn't work, they told me to delete and redownload the game but the only problem was that the Vanilla Destiny had been taken off of the playstation store so all that was in my downloads was the legendary edition of Taken King which when i started the download just showed up as Destiny with the trademark symbol. Same file size as the Vanilla Destiny, so i downloaded the game and it still wouldn't launch for me. Contacted Playstation help again they said there was a problem with the licensing since I bought the Digital Collectors edition so they refunded me and told me to purchase the legendary edition saying that it should work but as I have found out in the past hour, it gave me the same error i received the first time. the playstation support said that if anything else happens that I should contact you guys and the licensing figured out. I checked out your FAQ about the Taken King related Destiny problems and the answer you gave didn't seem to make sense to me as I have already owned Destiny for a year along with all the DLC. Please is there anything you can help me with or am I just screwed and have to wait until the 15th to play destiny and have to pay another $80 to get the content that I had already preordered.
Ok, so let's see... You are saying that the version of Collectors edition of TTK wasn't released in your region, but you downloaded it? Then you had to uninstall vanilla Destiny for you to access the Collectors edition current content, but now you can't find it?

  • I had purchased the digital collectors edition on saturday and when I went to play vanilla Destiny it gave me an error code stating that the game wasn't released yet. I followed the steps that Playstation Customer Support gave me which the last option was to uninstall the current Game I had, then purchase TtK legendary edition since it included vanilla destiny with it. The PS customer support said that it should work so after I purchased the legendary edition of TtK and dl it today it gave me the same error code. Yes, vanilla Destiny is no longer on the PS store which is where I had originally purchased the game a year ago.

  • Where did it exactly give you an error code? Because if you did not know, if you purchase the Digital Collectors Edition, you can immediately play the base game Destiny and its first two expansions.

I'm presuming, "original" game means the base game of Destiny along and the DLCs you have downloaded through the Collectors Edition. If it doesn't work, try uninstalling the CE (Collectors Edition) and try again.

  • Yes it was the base game destiny but I had already owned all previous DLCs, I had uninstalled everything and downloaded the legendary edition of TtK and its giving me the same error.

  • For the legendary version of TTK, I believe that you cannot have the play it now feature on it. The CE has the play it now feature, since it already comes with the base game and the two expansions. Try deleting all copies of destiny currently installed and re downloading the CE.

  • I was told that The Legendary Edition ($60 one) allowed me to play the base game and what I downloaded was the same file size of the original Destiny.

  • Ok. Since that didn't work, just try downloading the CE for now.

  • I'll repurchase it in the morning and delete the version of Destiny I currently have on my playstation and download it. I'll comment back what happens. Hopefully it will work, if not I don't know what I'll do. Thanks.

  • If nothing works. The only option to give you is to wait 14 days until the day of release. It should definitely work by then.
