If you have a Walmart internet connection and play Trials.. You are just as bad as any cheater out there. I just witnessed a guy with a red connection run through two rocket launcher blasts with proximity and live to kill me and revive others... Bungie please fix this...COMPETITIVE GAMES SHOULD HAVE A DESIGNATED SERVER!!!!

Red bar connections are not always because that person had bad internet. I have Cox (laugh it up) Communications and I have 60mbps down and 6mbps up, but I can sometimes red bar out of the blue.

1 ReplyThis is NOT a competitive game and being on dedicated servers would not help with the problem. We've been through this before, there are some people that don't have access to broadband. Bungie needs to make a software fix such that only connections of "x" speed/type can access their game. If you don't meet those qualifications you can't log on. There should be a disclaimer on the box that also states such. It would affect a good deal of people, but is the only way to prevent issues with a game that requires being online to play.

6 RepliesI report every red bar player...if everyone did this then bungie would be able to find the ones constantly lagging.Sick of playing against them.It ruins crucible also.On the rare occasion I red bar I quit and start again when I'm back to green.

4 Repliesspeaking honestly, its not the person who's got a bad connections fault, they might not be able to get a decent connection, and thats fine, however if you know for a fact that you have a bad internet connection and still play an end game PVP mode, then yes, you are wrong, ignorance or inability doesn't absolve you of what you've done. That being said, the fact that lag has this bad of an impact on the game is something that needs to be addressed, and considering that PVP matches in destiny have a lot going on, and that a maximum of 12 player will need to see this going on at the same time, a dedicated server is going to be needed, and frankly, the fact that even the base game of destiny came out without dedicated servers, from a company like bungie, is a bit disappointing.

6 Replieswhat if I have a fiber optic connection, a router that is specifically designed for gaming, live in town 2 blocks away from my internet provider, and am still have a red bar? then its not my fault so get over the connection issues.

I have superior internet ('Murica) but every now and again I'm red bar (?) so I don't tend to report reds....however when I'm red bar it never plays in my favor....I can't damage anyone immediately....but if a red bar is benefiting....i report them....

4 RepliesDon't report everyone with a red bar. I always look out for them and see if they have bad lag, then report them. But a lot of the time, it seems like it is glitched, because everyone has a red bar but fine connection, or someone has a red bar but there isn't anything wrong with him.

3 RepliesI have a wired connection and I'll still drop down to red bar occasionally. Not entirely sure what that's about. Strange thing for me is that I only go to red bar connection when I'm playing Destiny. All other games I don't have a single issue with. Any ideas?

2 RepliesPlease, when I lived in the states (I am American) I had about 20 Mbps tops for the best connection even though it should've been higher (it should've been like 100 Mbps). I live in Spain now, and I rock 50 to 100 Mbps everyday. The U.S.' internet is just as good as anything from Europe, and Europe probably has it better to be honest. Seriously, the airport internet is even amazing. Keep in mind I'm basing this on my experiences. I lived in the U.S. for my whole life until about a year ago when I got a job here in Spain. The Internet (at least where I live, idk about everywhere else) is amazing from what I have observed. I once started doing a raid and someone asked me where I lived. I said Spain. He laughed, and went on to ask me how the Internet was good in a third world country. What?!?!

But when you are playing in PVP not every red bar means THEIR connection is bad ;-) But BUNGIE can look who is bad and who isnt... they have plenty of stats to figure that out... however... $$$$$ rule ;-) they wont make their player base smaller ... even if it gives most players a better experience... but they could make do matchmaking a lot better... so your not grouped with a 56K connection in Liberia IE ;-)

15 Replies[b]Red bar connections shouldn't be allowed in trials[/b] When your connection starts affecting the game an players in an actually competitive game mode like trials, you shouldn't be allowed in. But bungie is too soft to do anything about it.
