Hello Bungie, this is my 1st thread ^^
I wanna share with you my first attempt at 3D modelised something, and here it is : a Strange Coin !
There's already some 3D Strange Coins on the internet, but they only have a "face" side, no "tail".
Mine have both, with the "agent of the nine" symbol on the tail.
You can download it for free on MyMiniFactory, just here : https://www.myminifactory.com/fr/object/destiny-xur-s-strange-coin-two-sided-high-resolution-12964
I really hope you'll like it !
If you wanna have a look at my other 3D printed Destiny stuff, you can go to my Pinterest board : https://www.pinterest.com/wormadkos/3d-printings/
EDIT 1 : No, it's not for sale, for legal purpose, I guess. If you really want one, you can download the model for free, and ask someone with a printer to print it for you ;)
You can also use 3D Hubs website to find a printer near your location.
EDIT 2 : I've send it to the community creation page. Wait'n'see :)

Seems like Bungie have shared the coins on the Community Creations, and also on Facebook ! Awesome ! :)
-
You should make it a bit thicker it just seems very thin.
-
There's a special place in the prison of elders for making counterfeit currency.... but seriously the design is awesome.
-
Looks good, i'd recommend 0.1mm layer height though
-
-
I have a 3d printed Fatebringer, the thing is huge. I still need to paint it.
-
reply for later
-
I think the file link is broken
-
Awesome job on all your work. Those coins came out great. :) Sharing the file is also pretty sweet. :)

Edited by xelon99: 8/29/2015 6:45:08 PMI took the liberty to open it up in my 3D program and texture it to get a better look at it. Gotta say, it looks amazingly accurate! The only differences I can see that may or may not be true are that the green stone in the middle is more sphere-like. At least in the Grimoire picture it looks like that... the entire coin looks smoother and thinner and the dark, inner ring has a greenish glow inside. All of these things aren't in the picture Deej showed to us once, but are in the TTK Legendary coin. Either way, accurate or not, I don't care. It looks amazing and I'd use it as real currency if it were legal... damn stores.
-
Well done! Looks great.
-
Im excited to get mine in my collectors edition of ttk
-
What kind of ink do I need for my HP printer to print these?
-
-
If there were any 3d printers near me, I'd make one too for sure. Maybe I can ask a friend to make it at his school where they do have one...

On this subject i kinda thought about making a real firing atheons epilogue out of a ar-15 and a speed trigger... the parts are easy to get but it comes down to the 3d printing and mounting. From the very start to end it could be around.... $2500 and thats a rough estimate with NO hiccups during production. I would like to have one that fires tracers but thats getting to be a bit more costly... OH YEAH!!! So most ppl know theres the 20 and 30 rounders right? And the the 100 round beta mags. BUT surefire has a 60 and 100 round mags that look similar to a standard 30 round m16 mag. I would probbly use the 60 round one because the 100 is just too long... but all for the realisticity of the firearm right people? Yes i am a gun person and one of those that thinks duct tape is the go to solution for most hardware issues.

That's a really awesome replica! I love the additional "The Nine" sigil on the back.
-
this is gonna be my first print with my glow in the dark filament. then ill just paint it like you did
-
Thanks. Now I can get one without having to sell my soul to a scalper.
