Well at least Xur will still be relevant in Taken king. By the way just curious how do you become a mentor? Is it a reward for being a bungie fan for so long. Or do you actually work for bungie?

Neither, actually. It's far from a reward. It's a mantle of responsibility to help you, the community, with issues you have on site, in Destiny, and with the Companion. More so than that, it's to help foster the community and teach you our ways.
