Forced vs having options, the difference is very important
Bungie you are making a HUGE mistake by leaving exotics behind, they are supposed to progress with us.
Dumping them in the trash is lazy, and personally I think you need to re evaluate that philosophy
I remember the first time xur sold icebreaker and I had 16 strange coins and I was about to give up but I decided to create a titan to play that one mission where you get a strange coin from the cryptarch and I was so happy I did that on Saturday night and purchased my first ever exotic. Don't take that away from me
I don't care if some exotics don't have a year 2 version but what I do care about is if they have year 2 attack value.
There's a difference between being forced to use new things and having the option to use new things, and I don't think you understand that Bungie.
EDIT: For the people who still aren't getting why this is a bad idea on bungies part, watch the video that I just posted the link to in the comments. The video is by KackisHD and it further reinforced my points.
Even deej himself said exotics are never supposed to become obsolete and they should always carry on with us.

2 RepliesBefore anyone calls me a Bungie fanboy/apologiser or whatever let me say this if they let us continue to bring our exotics over from year one then what would our incentive be to obtain new exotics? And before I go let me say this they would be nerfing year one exotics if the didn't plan to bing them in to year two at a later date say like the dlc's after taken king.

But once humanity was given "choice", even bad options, humanity ran smoother. I know that was a fictional movie, but people want more options not fewer.

1 ReplyHonestly, I don't think the old guns will stay down. Bungie will beef em back up later. Bungie has been working on lots of new stuff, and if the old stuff remained as it is, too few people would try out the new stuff. The game would stagnate and boredom sets it. The game needs to evolve to make it to the ten year goal, and it won't if the player base keeps an iron death grip on the stuff they are familiar with.

As far as we know they are just testing a concept in the real world before rolling out the full version, kind of like how the KTO recovery system was originally only for trials.
