Inferno is good. But why do I feel like it's a small bandaid on a huge shotgun wound that is the current state of the Crucible?

I'm just slightly worn out from an unbalanced system. Clearly the whole; one person shows up with an awesome gun and pwns, then everyone rushes off to find that gun so they can pwn too thing, has clearly gotten out of hand. All Destiny has now is a mad rush for the best guns. The story, raids, and strikes are just reruns over and over again at this point and the Crucible has gone way into Tilt Mode now. lol. The thing that has kept me playing Destiny has been the Crucible. But kill times are ridiculous at this point. Who knows when or if it'll really get better. Hawkmoon, The Last Word, Thorn, and Vex Mythoclast can kill you so fast! Getting 2 shotted with a primary weapon is NOT ok. lol. (4 headshots with a Battle Rifle in Halo 2 was the quickest I've ever seen until now. Not counting CoD. lol.) I've unloaded with a heavy ammo blasting machine gun on someone using one of those before mentioned hand cannons and they still managed to kill me either before or at the same time I killed them. Several times! That is NOT ok. lol. And any shotgun with a little range and shot package is a one shot kill. (Though shotguns are SUPPOSED to be able to one shot people. Like in Halo.) And of course Supers add that extra little exclamation mark of, "I really just one shotted half your team!" lol. I'm just saying it's kind of ridiculous. Kill times are way too fast and unbalanced. I miss the early days of Destiny. Like in the first month when almost no one was running around with exotics in the Crucible. Well not at first anyways. It was so much better back then! Everyone had the same uncommon, rare, and occasional legendary weapons. No one was pwning with op weapons. Back then the people that pwned were pwning because of skill. "I got a rare Shingen-E with stability perks. Time to go 22-5 in Clash cause I'm a beast!" Good luck with that NOW. lol. I remember having many matches back in the first few weeks of playing Crucible and pwning people with my rare weapons. It was fair because not a lot of people were playing with super high damage primaries. Heavy weapons were the best way to go on really long killing sprees back then. And that is how it SHOULD be. Bungie talked about it themselves once saying something to the tune of, "We can't keep ramping up weaker weapons to match stronger weapons or kill times will just get too fast." Paraphrased a little bit but that's basically one of the things they talked about before that weapon tuning patch came out awhile back. What they don't realize is with the way Destiny is designed kill times in the Crucible were "destined" to ramp up faster and faster, as more and more people acquired more and more exotics. That is what happens when you turn pvp into a multiplayer experience where you, "bring your own gun." It's like an arms race in the real world where a few countries have nukes so a bunch of other countries rush off to make nukes too, so everyone can kill everyone faster. The only difference in Destiny is that we get to respawn. lol I feel the "arms race" has got to stop. Somehow, someway a change needs to happen. We need to get back to the "roots" of Destiny. Back when it was fresh and new. Back when several of my friends hadn't quit playing yet. Back before the time where a few of my friends bought Destiny, beat the "story", tried the Crucible, and then said they were done with it. It saddens me that half of my clan barely plays anymore because of lack of more to do in pve and the harshness of the Crucible. Clearly Bungie is going to have to put on the brakes and slow down the Crucible experience. Maybe they can do this by turning ALL primary weapons down a bit. Like 10%. But only in the Crucible. That would probably slow down overall kill times since the last update made it a little less common to get shotgun blasted all match long. (This last update REALLY has made the before mentioned exotic primaries important in Crucible.) Another way that might work is have a sort of "barebones" Crucible list where no one can use exotics or legendaries. I would be perfectly OK with a playlist like this. It would be similar to how Destiny was when it first came out. :) But really all in all it boils down to design. Which means one way that might make it better is if Bungie went back to the old school, bread and butter that made them one of the premiere companies in competitive FPS gaming. Bring back the Halo style multiplayer. Where everyone had the same weapon and searched the map to pick up better weapons, instead of bringing your own weapons and going around picking up ammo for them. (Maybe no Supers as well?) For instance one possible layout for a Clash match would be this: Everyone would start with a legendary auto rifle like For The People. On the map very easy to spot icons would appear as you near a legendary pulse rifle like Three Little Words or a scout rifle like Another Nitc. You could just switch For The People out for one of these. (Or maybe have 2 different ones at the same time.) Then timers would appear; similar to how they do for ammo now, that showed the locations of a few legendary shotguns, fusion rifles, sniper rifles, and/or hand cannons. (Maybe even a heavy legendary.) When they spawn you could run and pick them up, replacing one of your current weapons. Then timers would appear for 2 or 3 exotic weapons to spawn, like Truth, Thorn, SUROS Regime, or who knows. Everyone would rush after the few of these that would appear and try and pick them up. Once you do you have a certain amount of ammo and then it's gone. Basically just like Halo Team Slayer back in the day. Balance issues would definitely drop in this kind of gametype. The only things to work on after this would be some more symmetrical maps with bases that have ease of accessibility. Simplicity doesn't look as pretty but it plays so much better! lol. But yea these are just a few ideas I've had from all my experiences of playing Destiny and being loyal to a game that I've found so many other people giving up on. Also drawing on my experiences with Halo and Call of Duty for comparison. (I love FPS games!) I know this game can be an amazing experience and I want to see it live up to the potential we all know it had before it came out last year. I just hope most of us are still around when and if it does. :) DarkRigel21 p.s. No I'm not completely bashing Destiny or the Crucible. I'm just expressing loving concern for a game I want to stay fresh and fun to play. I want Destiny to do good! Oh and before you say, "Get gud noob." or "Don't be a scrub." My K/D is actually fairly good and I DO have some exotics. (I only get pwned on certain occasions, like when the whole other team is running exotic hand cannons and vex. And I just can't get a certain few of said exotics.) lol. UPDATE: Well it's been several months since I posted this and things have changed some since then. Taken King has come out and several problematic exotic weapons are a little less a problem. Balance is in a strange place as of right now. I don't think it's completely fixed but it might be a Little bit better than before. Most people are complaining about things like lag, cheaters, and bugs. Plus apparently skill based matchmaking isn't popular. Didn't really know that was a thing. But I DEFINITELY agree with the lag, cheaters, and bugs problems. They need fixing big time. As far as balance is concerned I believe my above ideas are still good ideas to fixing this department. What do you think? Give this a bump if you agree with ANY of this. :)
