Hi JeetKuneLo, 1.- All content up to this point is required to play The Taken King. https://www.bungie.net/7_Destiny-The-Taken-King-pre-order-FAQ/en/Help/Article/13072 It would be weird for Oryx coming to kill you for doing nothing right? 2.- You can get the Suros Arsenal Pack and if you purchase the $40 standalone digital version of The Taken you will also be able to buy the digital Collectors Edition items (3 Exotic Class, 3 Shaders and 3 Emotes) for an extra $20. Note that this bundle will be available for purchase on September 15. 3.- Not everyone will have access to the VIP rewards, you still need to meet the requirements to get them in which one of the requirements states a deadline on 08/31/15.

  • First let me just be clear, I'm a Day 1 Destiny player, and I'm sorry to say it, but this is insane. I realize there are story elements that are linked, but this is wrong on so many levels, not even to go down the road of who gives a shit about the story.. -House of Wolves also takes place in the Destiny world... why was I allowed to buy that DLC without buying the previous one if continuity is so important? -Forcing customers to buy previous content to play new content would be the equivalent of being forced to PURCHASE Uncharted 3 just in order to be able to purchase Uncharted 4. This is certainly unprecedented in a console space as far as I know (no doubt MMOs do this, but we all know...) -The Dark Below, while may have story content related to the new stuff with be completely obselete and irrelevant upon playing TTK... So does this mean I'll also have to play through the entire Dark Below campaign just to start playing TTK content? Somehow I doubt it... so why do I have to buy it? And if I do have to play through it all... that is a freaking nightmare of its own. -In reality, I will never be consuming the content from the outdated and obsolete previous expansion... So other than saying that the story is based on this previous junk... please explain to me how this is not a $20 service charge levied against a Day 1 player, when new players can purchase ALL of the content for $60.... THIS PRICING STRATEGY MAKES NO SENSE!
