I agree. This idea makes a lot of sense, and I think it would be the best way to go. Instead of forcing players to abandon characters they have put a lot of time and effort into, allow us to really build a strong community by letting us keep the same toons for years to come. Somehow though, I doubt this will be the case. Destiny 2 will probably be a new, standalone title- not dlc.
