As someone who has used Thorn in Crucible, even I say it's unfair. It's way too easy to get kills in PVP with the weapon. Even at a huge distance, you can take someone down with 2-3 shots, easy. The poison and how easy it is to chain shots makes it extremely difficult to face head on without dying.
