The main issue I have with the Taken King announcement it the Year One stuff not being able to be brought up to the new level 40 cap. Bungie got such hish press when the introduced the way to make purple stuff usable again (including the VoG). I am at a loss as to WTF they are thinking taking 2 steps back from what they discovered players wanted. Before that announcement, I had planned to get the Taken King because it seemed Bungie was finally moving in the right direction with the House of Wolves, but they completely alienated me as a customer with the changes they are making.

I Like it i dont have many year 1 raid weapons but i hope you can bring the exotics up other wise my vex will be even more trash

Orion, We can't take our legendary weapons with it. But, we will have thousands of new weapons to play with and fight with over the next many years. Why is that so bad? This of your favorite legendary weapons now... Now think about a new weapon that is better, stronger, and just as fun to fight with. This is our future.

GreenPaladin, I don't mint Bungie adding several more good options with the Taken King (I prefer it), but I greatly dislike the idea that they are purposely choosing to confine the choices & eliminate things I have put a huge amount of time/effort into (like getting 3 of each raid weapon and getting them to 365). I was fully expecting them and my armor (which I think looks sweet with a good Int/Disp split) to be upgradable to still be playable. Since the announcement that all the present purple stuff is not upgradable, I have not done a single thing on Destiny (Nightfalls, PoE, ToO), because any stuff I now acquire will be outdated in a few weeks. This domino effects into liking the game as a whole less & thus do not plan to getting Taken King. As stated in my initial post, I see the Taken King as a step backwards after the good feedback from the Wolves DLC upgrades.
