Matchmaking is a big thing on destiny. I'm talking about on raids, strikes, nightfalls, and crucible. This idea is for a matchmaking button. It toggles whether or not you want to have matchmaking on or off. When you turn it off only friends can join your fireteam. That way you can play with your friends and not have anyone else join you. If you turn it on then anyone can join your match. I think this is good because some people need help and some just want to play with their friends. You can also play solo. It would also help people make friends.
I hope bungie uses my idea for matchmaking.
Edit #1 I'm surprised people even found this post after a month.
Edit #2 How did you guys find this post?

bump!

This needs to happen, and soon. PLEASE https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/172626620/0/0 Why is it that anyone has to put up w/ this once, let alone repeatedly^
-
Most likely will not happen unless they are desperate and player base just drops alot! I would support optional mm but i highly doubt they will implement unless they had to scramble for sales....
It toggles weather
1 month later and OP still has a grammatical error that no one corrected *claps*

Edited by ragingchewbecca: 11/10/2015 9:57:16 PMLike I've said in other posts, as long as its optional mm, I will support. Edit: I didn't see that you had optional mm in there the first time I read, support for optional

Bump. I think this is a great idea. Give players the option to choose to enter matchmaking, or play solo, or just with friends. You click matchmaking and you have matchmaking. You un-click matchmaking and you can solo or just have friends join. It's a great idea. For example: you have no friends on when you want to do a strike to complete a part in a quest like creating 7 orbs 3 times. If you get with people you don't even know then you might have a hard time doing that without communication because the others might kill your enemy grouping before you get a chance to engage your super on the grouping.
**((I say might kill, and I should say would kill because in my experience I am grouped with players who are very competitive rather than cooperative and it seems they feel they have to outdo everyone.))**
Then if you can't create the 7 orbs 3 times in a particular strike you have to start over at zero orbs completed in that quest. This can be frustrating. Why are some of you so against it? That makes no sense. This is a great idea that would not have negative effects on the game or the players.

Please share this if you agree

Optional or bust

Optional would be good for those people who dont have many people in there friends list who play destiny or none of your friends are on and you want to do a raid.

Edited by M3talDetector: 9/10/2015 10:03:13 AMYes has to be optional though. Would rather do level 20 strikes on my own for exp. like soloing Nightfalls but can never get a team for raids.. Hate spending hours on lfg looking. So YES Optional Matchmaking And let's be honest, once everyone's level 40 (eventually) the VoG and Crota will be so easy that you'll not really "need" a lot of communication, unless they level it up to 40 aswell.

There is no argument really against optional matchmaking. The lack of it is a horrendous oversight.
-
I've been on the no side for a long time do to the fact of communication is the key to complete raids. I said no in this post only cause they have to do it right and what I mean is.... Have requirements so you are pared with what you are looking for like age, gender(for those who are short minded), mic, and of course a system that kicks players who are AFK and a voting system to kick the players who are rude non social and none contributers. If it had these I would be on the yes side of it. But until then I'm saying no. I do hope there will be but it has to be done right...

Along if its optional!
-
Optional only
-
I agree we should have it but, make it optional..I used to solo the weekly
-
-blam!- no. It would fail miserably just like it does for weekly
