My story... Dear Destiny community, First off I would like to say that I love destiny but I have a few issues. As a player who has been fulfilling his destiny since beta (lol) I still don't understand how I am missing the things that make destiny the franchise it has become. I am missing an icebreaker, hawkmoon, black hammer, and the of course illusive Gjallarhorn. Whenever I bring up my issue to anyone who has anything of desire in the game I always get the same response, " do more raids ". This is maddening because I do all of my raids each week on all of my characters on easy and hard with no luck. While doing them I always have the thought of my brother who is also a seasoned guardian obtaining both black hammer and Gjallarhorn in his first try in Crota's end normal! (true story by the way) Though Bungie is probably going to nerf Gjallahorn and black hammer by the time The Taken King comes out, this makes it even worse for me because with my luck I will most likely get these weapons just after they are nerfed and will never experience the magic they used to produce. I also feel as if I'm not unlocking the game's full potential because I'm stuck using prudence II, a new monarchy sniper rifle. :-( Speaking of gear, it is the worst to see someone who just started playing when House of Wolves launched and have my dream load out. (fatebringer, black hammer, and Gjallarhorn.) So please Bungie, consider my words because I took a chunk out of my day to edit and create this persuasive essay (thanks Ms. McMillan) and make the destiny universe a better place. Sincerely, bjswaggernut update: I do the nightfall with my brother and he gets a hawkmoon. Not to mention I have all of the kills... :(

Quit whining and earn it like the rest of us

I saw it drop twice in Crucible for players with less than a 1.0 k/d. So, if that's what you mean by "earning" it, then so be it.

Exactly... Put in your hours doing all activities on multiple characters and not just crucible and you'll get everything eventually... I've got over 900 hours and finally got mine so do the work and quit whining.

My point is that the reward system, other than exotic bounties, is completely random. So, other than those few exotics, you don't "earn" rewards in Destiny, just a chance to possibly get some loot. If hard work in this game "earned" you something, then the 1st place player on a winning Crucible team would always earn something, but we all know that isn't true.

Again about crucible... You get at least 12 chances for an exotic weapon just by doing both raids... Each week! Not even including the 3 chances from nightfalls and now opening the chests in poe!.... Do the work... Run the odds... Earn it!

To earn something, there should be a standard to meet. For instance, "Do X and Y and you will earn Z." To just tell someone to play for a long time, in a game where the reward system is randomly generated, doesn't make sense. I only use Crucible as an example of how ridiculously random it is. Those two players I saw get theirs killed less than 10 people and got them. Some people get them in their 1st Crota run. Not saying you didn't put in the work to get yours, but I am sure that many people who have one didn't put in a tenth of the time you did.

I can run Crota solo in less then 20 minutes without an exotic weapon... My buddies and I can run skolas in about an hour... It's not about time, it's about running your chances efficiently and quick to max out your chances... True, some get ghally quick.. But they don't have black hammer, hawkmoon, suros, lord of wolves, hardlight, fatebringer, vision of confluence, aegis of kells 2 and my fave... Mida multi tool, plus others... People just want the ghally cause they think it'll make them better when I've learned to go without and now I only use my reforged radaghast fury... Just saying people should put in the work to get what they want instead of whining on forums... People like that are the reason they are gonna Nerf a bunch of weaponry because they can only complain instead of working to get better
