I personally feel that given the current changes to the game the Thorn exotic bounty is now an impossibility for bad PvP players. I want to clarify by saying that I have accomplished the Thorn bounty twice before using a green void shotgun to get through both of the crucible segments. The first time I did that part of the bounty it took me over 2 weeks to accomplish, by the end of it I honestly hated the whole game for putting me through that but the reward for Thorn was something I felt well worth it. The second time I went through that bounty, it took me just over a day to accomplish, mostly because I had learned from my mistakes and had a friend willing to help me out. Rumble is really the only place where this bounty can be done with poor PvP players like myself. Having received the Thorn bounty for a 3rd time I felt I had the power to do it again, but after playing for about a day I have learned that it is impossible. I am a level 34 Hunter, now with a fully upgraded legendary void shotgun. Having done this bounty before I expected to have certain difficulties be in place but over all progress has just not happened. After playing several matches throughout the day I still only have 2 points on the bounty. I blame certain parameters for this current impossible task. The first is that simply put everyone has gotten significantly better at PvP. There is nothing that can be done about it, the players that have thrived there are the ones playing it, they have all the advantages of someone who plays PvP everyday. This is something as a player you will have to overcome and can, but it is the next few issues that make this a problem. The true crippling feature to this bounty is the changes made to the special ammo deposits. Special ammo is now a rare resources that spawns near the same rate as heavy ammo. I could see getting around this issue would be easy if you had a void primary weapon, but those are few and far between. As someone who only has a void shotgun and void machine gun, the second I run out of ammo I am done accomplishing anything for the remainder of the match. I will do nothing but loose points for the remainder of the game. There are a few things around this issue that could help. Having a void primary weapon would just go around all of these issues and make it much easier to do. Waiting for the hunter void class to take over with the Taken King would also help. Lowering the refresh time on special ammo. Developing a new system where players can circumvent the PvP sections at a great cost. Or just removing the the point loss system and just have it build over time. I can see a lot of people telling me that I should just get better at the game, but that is something myself and many other bad PvP players simply can't accomplish. I am an amazing PvE player, but no matter how hard I try, PvP will just not be possible. The other issue that comes up with this is the thorn bounty even worth it anymore. An upcoming update has declared that it will be lowering the effectiveness of this once great weapon. As it is one of the most difficult bounties in the game, you can see why this would be irksome. As it stands though, I just don't see this bounty being accomplished by someone with my particular set of PvP skills. I'm not saying you have to change the parameters of this bounty, I'm just saying that given the current parameters facing current players, I do feel a little cheated.
