Chapter 1, The story of three Overlords Episode 6

As I awake on the ship I half expect to see Cuban in the ship my hopes fall as he is not in sight. Instead I hear Manhatton on boarding with some small load of cargo. As I peak out around the corner of the room. I see cargo mostly looks like old Texts, Codex's and even a few small hard drives. I walk out and ask if there's any word on Cuban he says there's been nothing on the comms but his ghost is still being detected as living. Which is good news however it hasn't given off any kind of distress signal. I think to myself maybe it'd alert the fallen maybe he's still alive or his ghost just can't find him yet He has to be okay. Manhatton looks at me as if he knows what I'm thinking he says we have to move on regardless if he's alright or not. Believe me you don't want to upset the Queen she's killed guardians before. And I don't plan to be next. He states this quickly with little emotion his robes fluttering past me as he makes his way to the Cockpit. I sit down at the table and pull out the last word holding it in front of me I take out all eight bullets I take out my own knife worn old and not as sharp as it could be. And I carve his name into the bullets if my friend has fallen I'll make sure the Darkness doesn't forget his name as long as I live. The ship begins to take off and we leave the Vestian Outpost. As we pull away two of the Queens Corsair ships Escort us out of the reef. Im angry that I don't know what's happened or what will happen. Manhatton walks back the ship on auto pilot he grabs a Hard drive and plugs it into a small hand held screen. Sitting down opposite of the table on the other side of the bay room of the ship. I hear something funny coming from his direction. He's humming as he scans through the information. I ask him why he's humming he simply replies I don't know its a habit I suppose. I say that's awfully human. Well your kind did make us in your image with your ideology in mind. Although we are war machines we learn and have personalities just like you. As I look at him I ask one more question do you form your own opinions or go on facts. He looks up for a moment from his hand held screen. Opinions on what? I replied how do you feel about this war. I mean I don't even know why we are fighting all of these different races. He replies is it not enough to fight this war to protect innocence or even defend yourself the fallen don't care what happens to us they want their god back the hive simply want us all dead. The Cabal we are just in their way one more race to be stamped out as they comb the galaxy to better prepare themselves for war And the Vex Terraform entire planets into Vex networks making themselves more efficient killing machines they can bend time itself and teleport light years. You know what they all have in common they all want us dead so that they can continue on. I personally Fight because if all else fails I will not die before I kill as many of them as possible for every dead Guardian for every child slaughtered in their mothers arms Manhatton's eyes glowing now as his hand crushes the hand held screen in his hands they have taken so much from this planet from us and we are still here if we were meant to die We'd have stayed dead buried in our own earth in our wreckage but no we are alive and I damn well will take everything from them and give them nothing in return we have nothing to give. I have seen so much suffering I was revived shortly after the Collapse in the Northern America's people looking for shelter just trying to stay alive so many wounded, starving and the fallen bands would come on their pikes with their arc and slaughter them I can still see their faces hear their screams. The fallen would stay afterwards looking for spoils and trophies alike. I hate them the most seeing their Cruelty their hate for us and knowing that long ago their is a chance they were just like us. They'd rather kill us then try to help fight off the Darkness all because the traveler left them. I was shocked for a moment. I immediately asked you mean the traveler used to protect the fallen? No he says it gave them a golden age it was worshipped as a god many houses rose in that time Wolves, Devils, Kings, Rain, Scar and many more. The Darkness came and they fell their very home planet swallowed by the Darkness their god abandoned them leaving them almost powerless. They chase the traveler trying to gain its blessing by killing us it's new champions. He calms down as if reciting the history helps. He looks at me he says you know what bothers me the most the Traveler left them behind it could do the same to us what if we aren't strong enough to hold all of the Darkness back will it abandon us too? I couldn't believe it I had never that about that. He sighs all we have is hope we had a golden age the Darkness attacked and we held it back once nearly suffering extinction and the traveler stayed. I hope it'll stay when the Darkness returns. I simply say I hope so too. He knows so much history. Of what happened and about the traveler and yet its a history he has suffered. I look at him and say sorry for what he's had to go through he looks at me we all lose something in this war and we all will have sacrificed. But we must have hope no matter how bleak the Future looks we must move forward. Just then I can feel the ship lurch forward as if we are stopping I look out the small window beside me. We are hovering just above the sky watch Manhatton commands his ghost to open the bay door as it slowy slides open Manhatton puts on his helmet and grabs his guns. Before standing at the end of the bay door and looking back at me as I prep my gear his back turned to the sky behind him we must be a couple of hundred feet up at least 500 or more. He waves and falls backwards off of the bay door I immediately grab my helmet and jump out after him I can hear my self screaming are you crazy as he does back flips in the air before hitting the ground landing on his feet next to a dreg surprising the dreg I realize I'm not going to land on my feet suddenly and end up pile driving the dreg into the ground cushioning the blow. Manhatton looks back with a smirk you'll have to work on that landing. As I wipe the pieces of dreg off my armor with my hands. I ready my shotgun. Manhatton takes point we are In a small court yard run down with a couple of rusted vehicles and cliffs to our south and North. To the west the opening to an old array and to our right the entrance to an old weapons factory. Ahead of us is two old choppers fallen up there scavenging Manhatton readies his scout rifle three shots and three vandals die one shot one kill each a captain and two dregs remains the Captain shots something at the dregs they charge us I quickly blow them to bits at close range with my shotgun the Captain throws down his Shrapnel launcher. Pulling out two arc blades he lets out a battle cry as if hoping more fallen will hear him I pull out my knife old worn and not as sharp as it could be. And I run at him as he runs towards me I hit him in the stomach with my shoulder as I carry him ramming his back into a nearby container rusted it gives way we tumble inside his arc blades lighting up the space he kicks me back. While he swings his blades I dodge them barely he tried stabbing my with his left arm I catch it at the wrist as I side step pushing my knife through his wrist and into the Container pinning his arm to the Container ether leaks from his wound as I step off his knee bringing my own to meet with his Chin knocking his head back I take the moment of him reeling to break his knee backwards. As he's on one knee screaming he swings his right arc blade at me desperately trying to make me go away as if I'm some kind of bad dream. I manage to grab the blade by the hilt and bend his arm back pointing the blade at his very face I can see the fear in his eyes and I don't care I force the blade downward through the top of his skull and into his chest the smoke and crackling sounds stop when I pull the blade out of his body. It goes limp leaning against the inside of the Container his left arm still pinned by my knife as I remove it I cut off the Captains sheath to the arc blade and tie it to my tactical belt he won't be needing it anymore. I place the Arc blade in its sheath so it rests at my side. And I walk out of the Container and back into the light Manhatton ask's did you get some frustration out? I can't help but know I did. He points to an old observatory in the Distance that's where we are heading the Fallen we are looking for should be there I nod as we make our way down the Northern Cliffs towards the Observatory. To be continued....
