The issue I have with this update is that, despite repeated calls from the community, Bungie refuses to treat PvE and PvP separately when nerfing and buffing weapons.

  • Please tell me how PvP affected PvE weapons in this patch or the other way around?

  • The hand cannon nerf is because of Thorn and The Last Word right? Yet they're nerfing the entire weapon class. I don't think anyone has an issue with HCs outside of the two primary offenders. Horseshoes and Hand Grenades is getting nerfed. Why? PvP. Again, other than the occasional accidental death, no one had issues with it in PvE. The various perks that are getting nerfed...like Send It? Due to PvP. Send It was the main reason Thorn had the range it did. But you also have Shot Package and Rangefinder getting nerfed on Shotties. Again, PvP. Sure, you can make the argument that not ALL the nerfs are PvP centric. GHorn, Hammer, Breaker are completely pointless and uncalled for. But overall, the nerfs and buffs are PvP driven

  • Yes the nerfs are PvP driven, but the PvP nerfs in this patch don´t really affect the PvE portion of the game. Hand Cannon nerf isn´t that much of a "nerf" as much as a redefining what a hand cannon is. You will still be able to do much damage with hand cannons in PvE and PvP, but hand cannons will become shorter range weapons how they should be. Horseshoes as a PvP nerf will have no effect on PvE. Shot Package and Rangefinder are also not really used it PvE so this is a PvP nerf. And Ghorn, Hammer needed the nerfs even when the community mostly didn´t want them and bungie showed exactly the reasons why they needed it. And I really don´t understand your initial comment saying Bungie is not treating PvP and PvE portions of the game differently. If that were the case we would have nerfs that affect one portion of the game well and other portion of the game in a bad way which isn´t the case here. Bungie is giving a lot of weapons specific PvE buffs so they ARE in fact treating PvP and PvE separately
