As in the Forbes article, said by Blizzard, number one in my book for MMO's. Never nerf. Always buff up other weapons to create build diversity.

I read that article. Anyone can quote what some guy said. Any evidence to back that up? No!!!!

What? Are you confused? Here you say that Blizzard says always buff up, never nerf. And you agree. In one of your replies you say that over the years playing 2 franchises of theirs, you've seen plenty of nerfs and buffs and they seem to do it right .... I played wow and I agree, plenty of nerfs and buffs. The people who have been quoting that article lately I keep referring them to the latest wow patch notes. They show a ton of buffs, nerfs, tweaks and redesigns. I honestly don't know if it's true that someone from Blizzard said that exactly and meant it, but it's obvious they don't follow that. That article is garbage. It's better to nerf a few weapons like Gjallarhorn than to buff the hundreds of others (and then need to buff enemy health and adjust pvp stats etc).
-
Problem with that logic is that every weapon will have crazy TTK. It's nice to slow down the pace every once in a while.
-
But buffing can be just as bad as nerfing and can lead to basically having every weapon do the same thing. There just need to be a equal amount of buffs and nerfs for weapons to preform on how they are suppose to be preformed.

If you buff other items to have similar effects in different ways, this creates build diversity by people using these other items. I've played Diablo since Diablo 1. And WoW for years. I've seen plenty of nerfs and buffs and Blizzard seems to do it correctly without much bitching and whining, everyone just adapts to new play styles

We know, but this game isn't a strategy game, its an fps with an already fast TTK. A faster one would be like CoD's
-
Buffing isn't always better. You claim to want build diversity? Well let's buff all the weapons to be on par with gally. Now imagine how easy the game just because. Buff underpowered and nerf overpowered is the correct mindset to have.
-
The way I've seen it is that when all buffing of items occur, they do a complete overhaul of enemy (AI) gameplay.
-
That is for PvE... Destiny has a large PvP player base and has to think about both aspects. If you buff everything and don't do needs, everything will kill as fast as Thorn. That's a problem. Reducing the time to kill is needed and can only be accomplished by a nerf.
