Hello,
Were you still on the section of waiting for Variks to summon you? When you complete an Elder Cipher it pops up on screen and has the same text as an original cipher.

Yes I was still waiting to be summoned from Variks. I turned my first cipher in and was waiting for be summoned. I was not summoned yet. When I went into the poe 34 and beat it, i received another elder cipher in the chest when I used a key. After I checked my bounties and it had overwritten my first elder cipher. Why didn't it just go in another bounty slot?

You wouldn't have received an Elder Cipher from the chest.

I just read a couple things. You can get a cipher from the chest and this person has had the same thing happen to him that happened to me. Two elder ciphers being activated at the same time Earlier today I did PoE level 35 with my Titan. Got my first Elder Cipher. Cool stuff. Just a couple of hours ago I did 35 again with my Hunter and two Elder Ciphers dropped for me. I went to Variks thinking I'd maybe turn in one at a time to start the bounty but they both activated. Does this mean...I can get two of the bounty weapons? Well 3 in this case if true, since my Titan has the other. ---

You get a step to complete the elder cipher from the chest, you do not get the actual cipher from the chest . It only drops from 34 and 35 boss fights

Also, you can receive the Queens Cipher from the chest, that is part of the Elder Cipher, but you cannot receive the Cipher from the ches.t

Hello, When you kill Skolas, you have a chance at earning two Elder Ciphers. The second Elder Cipher is a glitched one. Bungie is looking into this issue and is working on a fix. Ahhhh thank you for clearing that up. However I'm still confused because I got it from a 34 chest. But it's whatever now. I was curious on what happened. Thank you for the help!

You probably got the Queens Cipher, that is the second step of the bounty.

Also when I got this other cipher when it popped up out the chest it had me deliver it to Variks again

Edited by S7 :): 7/16/2015 1:46:49 AMThere is a part, the second part to be precise, where you must use a key on a [b]Queen's Chest[/b] to get a [b]Queen Cipher[/b] to get to the waiting part. Are you sure you didn't just go to Variks, select the weapon for the first part, and then think you were on waiting? Personally I forgot this step as well, seems to be a common thing some people forget.

Well when I first got an elder cipher after beating Skolas, I got the the cipher and went to Variks and chose the weapon that I wanted (even though it doesn't matter in the beginning) and didn't have to do anything until I got summoned. After being summoned I had to kill the bosses to get 10000 points and then I got the queen breakers bow. A few days ago I did the 34 before it reset. I got another cipher. I handed it into Variks. I haven't been summoned yet. Today I beat the new 34 that was reset from Tuesday. When I opened the chest today another elder cipher bounty popped up and then overwrote my previous bounty (to my knowledge) because I then had to go to Variks again and hand it in and it said I had to wait to be summoned. I hope this all makes sense.

The second part is the truth of what you say. You indeed don't get the cipher from the chest, you do get the queens cipher which is the second part of the elder cipher quest. 1. Kill skolas and get elder cipher. 2. Complete a 32/34 or 35 and open the chest to get the queens cipher. 3. Hand it in to variks and wait up to a week for him to summon you. 4. Get 1000 points from completing any lvl by killing bosses. 5. Chose your weapon.

You're welcome :), you probably did another one shortly after and opened the chest without realising that's what you had to do.
