the problem isn't with thorn, it's with all the other weapons being too weak with the exception maybe of red death. i know thorn is an exotic, but when i can take on a sniper or a shotgun at the range that should favor my opponent and i win 75+% of the time there's something wrong.

I don't like the TTK on Thorn or Last Word hence I don't think other guns should be buffed to match them. I like a slower pace with more strategy. I'm thinking Halo, where you had to take out shields and then their health which took time and strategic combinations of weapons. If I wanted 'twitch' gameplay I would play Call of Duty. I like the idea of superior strategy out-classing weapons with fast TTK.

The Last Word is grouped excellently with a sniper. Vex is really good on smaller maps. Red Death and Messenger own mid-range. The worst part about Thorn is that one stray shot forces you to back out of a fight...and it leaves you vulnerable, even after killing someone.

I feel the problem lies with thorn in the sense that I feel like the time to kill with most other guns (or at least primaries) is good, and then thorn is 2 headshots = death

This really depends on the distance to the target. Up close, The Last Word and Vex beat Thorn consistently. Far away, MIDA, Red Death, and Messenger beat Thorn consistently. There's just a little pocket in distance where Thorn wins almost every time, and that distance just happens to pop up a lot more frequently with the way the maps were designed. I agree, Thorn is annoying -- especially how easy it is to make somebody a one-shot kill.
