How is this a slap to the face of anybody? Buy a Redbull if you want. Don't if you don't. It's called cross promotion and companies (and hundreds of games) do it all the time. It's actually a neat thing (until a douchebag steals a code they didn't buy). This is a fun and cheap way to get just a bit more stuff in the game.

  • Only available in America for a start, there are other countries in the world

  • Most other countries have better beer. It's a fair trade.

  • In what way is it neat, like please explain because all I see is way of exploiting the dedicated players who want all the content possible

  • It's not an exploit because they're releasing it in January to everyone whose purchased TTK, it's basically just an exclusive that you can get access to before others by buying a red bull.

  • If it's connected with TTK then it should simply come with that immediately, but instead it's buy this £40 then if you want this now then pay another £4 on top, all I see is a method of squeezing a bit more money, I love bungie but I can't justify this move

  • Again, it's an early release. If you want to wait for it like most and not pay for it, do. If you want an early "sneak peak" pay a bit now. Almost every marquee online game has done something like this (I don't remember what WOW did when I played, but I took advantage) and COD does it with Mt.Dew, just as two quick examples. You don't have to "justify" it. Sure, if you want to be cynical, you could look at it like a money grab (which in some level is true). But if you look at it from an unbiased truth standpoint, it's simply early access to new material. If you gave that opportunity to any gamer anywhere for any game, for less than the price of lunch, the VAST majority would think it a great idea and many would happily take them up on it. It's only in this cynically masochistic community where it would be seen as an FU by the devs. I think Bungie has screwed up with this game in many ways, but this isn't one of them.

  • My opinion is I love destiny and genuinely do not believe I'm being biased here(but then again I get that bias isn't always on a conscious level) I'm judging it on the personal belief that if I pay for it I should have unrestricted access to what I've just bought, to me it feels like paying for something twice (which it essentially is) this is this stand point I take anyway

  • If you pay for it, you should get unrestricted access to it, and you do (unless you're on Xbox and then you are totally restricted in a lot of ways). You haven't purchased TTK yet. You can't get TTK yet. If you purchase TTK, you'll get this "special" content (which is so minor I can't believe it's actually causing such an uproar) in January. So you will get the content. If you chose to go the Redbull route, you don't need to purchase TTK to get the content. So you can get it both ways - nothing says you have to pay for both. But many (and I do mean many) are thrilled at the prospect of getting even a shred of content earlier than they can "buy" it. And for like $3 even if you hate Redbull, it's dirt cheap to get a sneak peak or a new mission. If this was the ONLY way to get this content, I MIGHT find myself siding with the haters. But it's not. If you don't like the promo, wait for the content like it was originally designed for. You miss nothing by passing on this and are in no way getting screwed regardless of what you choose.

  • Kinda contradict yourself when say its causing an uproar then saying many people are happy about it, just saying, kinda doesn't answer my point, if you buy ttk you don't have immediate access to something that's included in the price, therefore you're restricted till January, there's no two ways about it. The content is minor yes but it's not the size but the principle I disagree with.

  • No contradiction. I didn't say the majority was complaining or the majority is excited. If I had to guess, I'd say the majority are upset and there is an uproar, but I can tell you everybody on my destiny playlist thinks it's cool and I've talked to numerous people on the various forums and read countless posts that do as well. The timing is weird, I'll grant. But the fact is, if you buy TTK, to borrow your phrase, there's no two-ways about it, you will get it. You're not restricted in that, for whatever reason, this content goes up for the masses in January. So we're not talking about a restriction, we're talking about a delay -which is exactly what I said a few posts ago. Get it now or get it then, but you'll get it regardless. Again, if this was exclusive content, I'd get the argument, but it's not, so the argument doesn't make sense. Because what your argument is, boils down to "somebody is willing to pay a premium to access something early (just like new technology and movies and cars) and I don't want to pay the premium, so nobody else should be allowed to." That's an argument cranky 8 year olds for make.

  • So you're saying I'm not restricted to playing certain content when I first purchase ttk? The whole idea of this is to squeeze money out the most dedicated players, which I understand is a solid business method as these games are only in existence to bring in revenue and as great lover of the game I'm naturally buying all of the content, however I find the idea of having to buy the same content twice to have the optimal experience is just down right immoral, I'm mean the whole okay pay this much for content then pay this much to play all of it now is just downright exploiting those who want the best experience when those are the very players that bungie should be trying to keep happy, I understand that a plus of this is that more casual players gain access to the content without having to purchase ttk but this at the cost of the more dedicated players? I think not
