I think the game would have done better if you earned gear for doing certain missions. Like OMG that guy has vex Mythoclast he must have completed the ultra vault of glass But no it's now, "that guy has vex, woopdiedoo"

i would like them to convert most of the acquisition of exotics into exotic bounties that are acquired through rng of specific missions. Then just complete the bounty to get the weapon. its a very rewarding system that adds story and adventure to acquiring the weapon.

  • Completely agree. I believe RNG is there to keep us rats coming back to look for cheese over and over again. Pushes up their hours played and looks good on presentation slides back at corporate.

  • it is. bungie hinted that they use rng to artificially extend the life of Destiny. the artificial extension occurs through low rng rates and weekly content restricted drop rates to once a week (this is a huge one i hate) that doesnt even guarantee an exotic. Destiny could get away with this IF they guaranteed an exotic each week for that hardest mode. Then make it an exotic bounty and people are extending play time through the week trying to complete it.

  • Yeah...but that would mean that they would have to up the content in a big way on PvE and I can't see that happening.

  • True. One thing I've mentioned before are content updates every 3 weeks. Doesn't need to be major. Something like a minimum of 2 exotics weapon or armor, 3 legendary, and 3 rare or less, along with some cosmetics like 1 shader, ships, etc. DLC's come out every 9-15 weeks or so. So you would have 3-5 updates with new content periodically. Of course, this relies on the integrity of Bungie/Activision not cutting content from DLCs haha. But this would be a good way to also incorporate customer designed product. It's a free work force to some degree. Allow people to turn in ideas and even artistic designs, choose the best and give credit to that player for the design. You see an increase in devs utilizing player ideas in games these days.

  • What a great idea...a good start would be to not cut the vendor and faction items that they've already developed from the loot table. :) Honestly...If that's the way Bungie did business I would throw money at the screen and thank them for it.

  • That's how Bungie described their game pre-alpha. They said you would know a guardians story just by looking at their gear because everything is earned via accomplishments. I suppose You do earn certain things on the PvP side of the game...everything else is random RNG.
