Warlock 1.3
Hunter 1.7
(these are last i checked)
I know I'm not the best guardian in crucible, but I know I'm not the worse. Just wanted to get a feeling on what is a "good" vs. "bad" k/d.
I've seen a lot of opinions being ignored or dissmised because of a "bad" k/d and i wanted to get a feel from the community.

If your not 2.5k you suck at this game..for only players with a k/d over 9000 are any good at this game.
-
Most of these people are wrong. From my experience, the best K/Ds come from people who are on good clans. I think the "average" player probably falls around a .8 K/D, considering the average is NOT 1 in this game. You have to consider that the best players get far more kills than the average players, and they are all using cheap weapons and tactics, so the average will be under 1. I think any K/D over 1 is good. 1.5 separates the "men from the boys" imo. Any K/D over 1.5 means you are a great player. Even the best players have bad days in this game, because it's full of one hit supers, trade-off kills, etc... and good luck if you can't pick up the heavy drops most of the time. I have a K/D of 1.66 last time I checked. That's within the top 8% of the world. If that doesn't make me a good PvP player I don't know what does.

If the guns were balanced kd would mean more.plus people plays solo and some people like teams.some people have been using thorn for a long time to cusion thier kd.some like to snipe at spawn.some like to blink shotty.some like to take heavies and go hide

1.01+ is good

Edited by TheWiiIsBetter_: 7/1/2015 6:38:59 AMKd doesn't matter dude
-
You are top 7% apparently.
-
-
I don't care about kd because I usually mess around and trials is the only time I actually go trihard
-
Lots of factors. Always trying hard? Always playing with a decent team? If so, your KD will be much higher.
-
.1 is competitive. You are at least a bullet sponge for the better players
-
Not mine
-
The hashtags to this post cracked me up. Nobody gets paid to play this game competitively. Know why? It isnt a competitive game nor was it ever intended to be. Supers? Terrible gun balance? Cluster -blam!- maps? Yaaaa tons of destiny pvp tourneys with huge prizes im sure. If you want competitive go play bf4
-
If your under 10% in kd would people consider that competitive?
-
Depends on a lot of factors. If you're around the 1.4 mark you're not bad but then at also scales with your win %, medal score and total kills. If you're at 1.8 and above with 10000 kills or so, Id say you were good. Go further above that and you're really good. Anyone 2.5 and above with a lot of kills I'd say is in the sort of bracket that is a nightmare to play against.

Drinking: .35 Sober: 1 and over
-
The people who will disregard and dismiss opinion will do so regardless of your kdr. Kdr just gives them an excuse to do so.
-
1.5=a decent player imo once you get to around a 2.0 is when you're a very effective player. I myself am barely there, with a bit over a 1.9 on my warlock and a 2.1 on my hunter. My Titans k/d is only around a 1.7/1.8 because I'm not too amazing with Titans, and have not used them much.
-
1.0 - OK 1.5 - Good 2.0 - Competitive 2.5 - Very competitive 3.0 - Top tier
-
Sober 2.0 High I pull 3.5 - 4
-
1.5 sober 2-5 high. I vape my shit. Keeps me alert but chill. Helps me snipe.
-
I'd say a 1.5 you're in there "competitively"
-
You're KD is in a good place. Much higher than the people who prowl the forums.
-
This is how I generally see it, but there are exceptions. 1.0 - Average 1.5 - Good 2.0 - Competitive +2.5 - Elite Like I said, there's obviously exceptions. This is just how I see it. I know some people screw around and aren't always trying. It's all about having a good time anyways.
-
Anything around a 2 tbh... But it depends on when you started and such... Some of my mates have like a 4.0 k/d... But they came from a competitive halo or cod scene... I have other friends with lower k/ds but play just as well ... they were bad when they first started but as they played more got much better but that period of being bad weighs their k/d down so much... A good way to see if Someone is in this situation is take a look at their rolling k/d / collection k/d... Or just look at their recent games
-
K/d doesn't mean anything. I'm no god at crucible by any means, but I'm well above average and I only have a 1.6 k/d. THIS IS A GAME, have fun in whatever way you think is fun. Me and my friends go into crucible just to bullshit all the time, nlb only, autos only, grenades only, Melee only, upside down controller (I couldn't get a single kill that one) and or k/d is atrocious some of those games, but we're all having a blast, and that's all that matters. Stats don't mean shit, they are just numbers

Depends on the system... the ranking difference in a 1.2 And a 1.5 on xbox is an insane jump in the ranks
