What's a competetive K/D?
Warlock 1.3
Hunter 1.7
(these are last i checked)
I know I'm not the best guardian in crucible, but I know I'm not the worse. Just wanted to get a feeling on what is a "good" vs. "bad" k/d.
I've seen a lot of opinions being ignored or dissmised because of a "bad" k/d and i wanted to get a feel from the community.

Having over a 1.5 is good for this game if you play with randoms. I played with randoms for awhile and averaged a 1.5 till I honed my skills and forged a fireteam of bad asses. I'm closing in on high kd myself finally

This games netcode is a mess! anything above 1.0 and your winners in my eyes.

1.0. If you get 1.0 you are earning as many points for your team as you give to the other team. That's exactly competitive.

Eh, i couldn't care less about kd, friends play my account often, and i love screwing around with stupid rules, like "shoulder charge only"

1 is average 1.2 is I screwed myself over at the beginning and now my kd sucks ass 1.3-4 is just good 1.5-65 is really good and really hard to pass 1.7 isn't a real spectacle but is better than the lower ones nonetheless 1.8 is so rare I don't know if I've ever seen it. 1.9 is pretty much 2.0 without giving a shit 2.0 is amazing for this game. So many cheap kills you can get.

Unfortunately kd does matter in this game more than others (I'm talking game to game not overall). All of this games modes are based on kills to gain points more than anything else. Cap all the points you want on a game of control, but if you finish with a .3 kd, you just hurt you team a lot more than those caps helped you. In games like CoD, where domination is based on point ts held over time, kd doesn't matter at all. The guy constantly jumping on points and getting killed might finish with a .3kd but his 10+ caps probably won the game. I'm not saying you're bad if you don't have a crazy kd, but as close to 1 as possible is fine. If I see a guy with a .7 or something I just assume they had a bad game.

The all time k/d on the player profile can be missleading. Mine is .5 I think last I checked, which got me denied entry to a pvp clan (laughed when I got that email). Anyway my single game k/d averages about 2.3, some days better some worst. So how is my lifetime so low, I have kids who like to play the game (6 and 9) and enjoy the crusible matches. That's one of the things I enjoy doing with my girls, but I'm not spending another 60 bucks for them to have their own game just to preserve a stat. I agree with the others though, any stat that shows your killing more then dieing is a good number to have.

1 ReplySome noobs think it's a measurement of their unit. Sadly, it usually is for them. Really though, that term doesn't apply to this game. No MLG'ers play this game's multiplayer or take it seriously.

Anything positive is competitive. It literally means you kill more things than you get killed by, and you are an asset to any team you are on. That's just fine.

K/D depends on your enemies. I think the most 2.0+ K/Ds are very good players, but their K/D would fall when they would only face teams in their league. Just for clarification: with "fall" I don't mean that they will get negative.

It's hard to say. I feel like because this game has such a big learning curve when it comes to the Crucible, it over inflates K/Ds of any player who has any skill, myself included. For example: my K/D is around 2.5+ overall, and between 2.9-3.0 in the last couple of months, but in an actual balanced multiplayer (meaning skill mattered more than what weapon you used since everyone had the same two weapons), like Halo Reach's Team SWAT, I never got above a 1.9 K/D. I think just be considered in the top 50% you just have to have a 0.9 K/D. So by making sure you kill as much as you die, you're already in the upper echelon of destiny players.

K/D doesn't mean anything in Crucible, only because it's Destiny, home of the crutches.

most top players in destiny tracker who have over 2.5 kd had some fps mp experience before destiny came out,some also played the alpha and beta of the game so when the game was released they had an advantage, i had 1kd on my hunter back in oct 2014 when i started destiny was my 1st fps mp game i played and now its around 2 and my last week kd is 90% of the time over 2, cuz i kept playing and trying to get better at it

I use a bunch of different weapons for fun so my k/d is bad because of it. If I rock the thorn or dine of the other "OP" weapons I get about 1.5... I have fun using ask the weapons so I don't care about k/d... Just have fun man it's a game..

If your not 2.5k you suck at this game..for only players with a k/d over 9000 are any good at this game.
