What's a competetive K/D?
Warlock 1.3
Hunter 1.7
(these are last i checked)
I know I'm not the best guardian in crucible, but I know I'm not the worse. Just wanted to get a feeling on what is a "good" vs. "bad" k/d.
I've seen a lot of opinions being ignored or dissmised because of a "bad" k/d and i wanted to get a feel from the community.

As long as you're not going below 1.0 you're being competitive.

People still care about a K/D in 2015? I suppose as long as it's above a 1.0 then you'll be fine. (Because the shear number of Thorns/Last Rounds snipers, and long range shotties certainly makes it annoying to keep to really high.)

Depends, my kd fluctuates based on signal strength and I can't see how I could call that competitive. When my gun works and hit detection is on point (at least on my side of the screen) I get a 2-3kd and then in a tough and more competitive match il drop to about 1.8kd and in a game with poor connection for me il go down to a 0.7-1.4. So I guess for me if a lobby is balanced in terms of player skill and and connection I would be happy with a 1.8

It depends on your perspective. For example: if you're constantly coming out in the top 3 on your team, winning the game and going positive, than whatever K/D you attain is competitive. For me personally, anything less than a 2.0 is disappointing. My newly created Titan only has a 1.9 K/D and I feel like I'm struggling mightily lol, even though most players would be happy with a 1.9 K/D.

1.3 is fairly good, better than most. 1.7 (depending on other stats such as kills/game and score/game) is great.

Edited by nAhtA: 7/16/2015 7:16:06 AMThought this might be helpful for some people who automatically assume a high KD without a high CR = camper with zero skill. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ To help clarify "Combat Rating" I'll do a short explanation on why this number is really not a useful tool to determine skill: - It's easy to get a great CR if you play a game type such as Control solo and get a decent amount of kills on average. - If you play in a fire team in a game type such as Skirmish you will have a harder time acquiring the needed kill count to achieve a "good" CR. - Many people say if you have low kills per game all you do is camp. This [i]could[/i] be true if you played Clash or Control often, not if you continuously play ToO or Skirmish. I wouldn't generally care enough to mention this but this community (especially lately) is not looking at the big picture and is getting too caught up in only a small amount of a players statistics. I can say with confidence that it's a very gray area, there is [i]no[/i] clear black and white statistic that truly tells you the complete story on any one player. You will always have the power of your opinion, but know that's all it is, and that much of the time you are treating assumptions as facts. Don't be like politicians and lawyers (no offense if that's your job).

5 RepliesOk. A week or two ago I started to get really really good at pvp. I beat all of my previous records in one week! My previous records were like 7000 points on control. But I got a 10015 point game and I have been crushing shit ever since with 30+ kills per game without a fireteam. Should I create a new ps4 account and buy playstation plus just to try to get a kd that's really good and try to get on the leaderbords? On destinytracker.com I am rank 3000 with most kills in a game (48). My kd i shitty cause i used to play pvp for fun. So should I make a new account? It would also feel good to have to grind for all that sexy gear that I already have.
