I've been good at other games like call of duty etc but with destiny I'm just -blam!-ing terrible.
I have all the overused exotics, I've tried messing with my sensitivity but nothing seems to work.
every time I'm on a team for trials I'm always at the bottom of the board and always let my team down in one way or another.
I do pretty well in PvE but I'm just colossally bad at PvP, so can anyone please give me any tips or tricks for improvement, anything will be appreciated, thanks ):
Edit 1: thanks for all the helpful replies, I've read all 130 of them so far and I'm taking all the information on board, even 'git gud scrub' replies
Edit 2: this post isnt a troll, I'm genuinely trying to get better at the game here, and for those that still don't believe me, the information on this post could help others too, I really appreciate all the feedback ive gotten from this post. It's definitely improved my game by a substantial amount and I hope others have learned a thing or two (:
Edit 3: Thank you to all the helpful replies, I bought a ps4 yesterday morning and utilised some of these great tips and have earned a solid 1.59 kd, I really appreciate everyone being so helpful (:

Pick your gunfights wisely and aim for the head.

4 RepliesMy friend, the crucible isn't for the weak. 1) be patient 2) know your radar 3) know your weapon 4) know the map, learn the spots where enemies usually always come from 5) practice If you get these things down, you'll be fine. I still manage to go positive with a SUROS where it's at today because I know these things. My KD might be a little sh*tty due to the fact I play with randoms 90% of the time but I'm still positive in my KD.

Apparently Thorn is the root cause of all the problems with Crucible!

4 RepliesBecause you have a good internet connection

One of the main reasons many people suck at PVP is the servers. Sometimes I get a great connection and can kill 25+ in crucible with the other team screaming about cheating. Then there are a lot of times when I am getting shot thru a wall or getting meeled by someone half a map away.

Practice. The feel is very different from other PvP games. Learn the maps and the heavy spawn locations. I'm not great, and hit about .7 kd until recently. I've gotten much better, and kd has slowly moved up to .9. Not great but improving.

Blink, shotgun, slide, back pedal, READ YOUR RADAR, do basic jumps when you shotgun, so people shoot your feet, handcannons: dont fire as fast as the cannon can time your consecutive headshots, scouts: head or ur dead, pulse rifles, aim at the upper torso or neck so the recoil gets you headshot bursts. And MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL Don't give a -blam!- about kd, or doing good, pvp is broken as hell Pick up the next Gears, Halo, or Metal Gear, uncharted and when you die, youll say "damn he wallbounced/box popped/grenade bounce,/(insert move of skill here) Instead of saying "ow, DoT got me, or ow, thorn" When a game has a gun that is not a flame thrower, grenade launcher or rocket where you can turn your back, retreat, and get a kill after firing your shot, and its PRIMARY, expect b.s.

Can you post a video of how you move around the maps? In destiny you need to make people fight on your terms and that's something you may be lacking on. Only a gameplay will let me make suggestions.

Bro use a hc and a sniper. With the sniper if u hit him under the head and ur buddy hits him with a hc that's a ko. I been doing that hence my kd is low, but we get the win

2 RepliesSame boat as you mate ... Jus can't seem to get the hang of this trails BS
-
Also i say framerate, 30fps gets you kill trades, alot happens here too.

2 RepliesThe key to winning engagements against OP weapons is strafing and accuracy, similar to Halo games. I've never played CoD except at friends houses, but I'm pretty good at Crucible and Halo multiplayer so I'd say my opinion is valid. If someone replies to this, I'll post a link to an article I read a while back, as it's far more coherent then my guides ever are
-
1 ReplyI'm not gonna be a dick like other people may be(don't know if you've gotten any toxic feedback) but yeah it's just a different ballpark. I suck at cod but like a messiah in bf and destiny. It may just not be your multiplayer game.

Practice! Don't mess with sensitivity, use what your used to (mine is 4 and I do good). Stick to a few guns that u like and get good with them. After 2 days of practice with No Land Beyond I am now destroying with it in skirmish/control. Hope this helps a bit.

I find myself in the same boat. I typically keep a positive k/d now, but I was abysmal at first. Just recently I started messing with Rumble. I really think this is a great way to hone the skills.

Use the thorn . I mean force
-
I think the main reason is the weapon balance issues mean people with thorn and felwinter combo are overpowered to the point of absurdity and the lag and abundance of cheaters make some games near unplayable. The problems are many and they aren't being solved and this community is seemingly content to let the game continue as is and constantly flame people who have the audacity to point out it's many many flaws.

Use cover if at all possible. You just cannot be all out in the open with all your body showing. You want to present as little of yourself as possible. Unless you are situationally rushing. The main thing I see in regular crucible is guys just see red on their radar and just rush to it. Or they see an enemy player and just openly rush towards him.

Watch good players like tripleWRECK on twitch and learn

Providing a video would grant you better tips

I'm -blam!-ing terrible at crucible too
