I can't stand seeing obese children.
And I mean, I've seen 3 year olds that are fat as hell. It's something that has incredibly irritated me for a while now.

When they are as young as three years old, it's almost always some sort of disorder, and not a bad diet/lifestyle.

When they are as young as three years old, their parents are usually gigantic as well. Explain to me this disorder and how it fits in with statistics on child obesity.

Sometimes. At such a young age, though, it's difficult to have amassed substantial fat deposits. Not sure specifically, but genetic/hormonal disorders are usually what causes significant obesity at young ages. Usually when I've seen fat families, the kid is a few years older. I know one family had their kid taken away because she was extremely obese, despite having had several doctors diagnose her with a hormone disorder, I believe. They made sure she had a good diet, and exercise. They still took the kid away. It took two years to get her back, and because the foster parents didn't have any idea about her disorder or how to care for her, she got significantly worse. So, I'm at least hesitant to blame bad parenting, anyway.

Their parents don't seem to mind. THAT is the real issue.
-
It's pretty much child abuse
