A Reason to Run Vault Of Glass Normal Mode

The last 8 or 9 times I've done a VoG raid, all have been on hard mode. Everyone seems to feel there's no reason to do it unless you're running HM. Well, I think I found a reason- I want my Vision of Confluence and I know why I haven't got it yet. I read an interesting compilation of statistics on loot drops from both Normal and Hard Mode.
http://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/2l39z8/all_known_vault_of_glass_loottable/
It seems to suggest that Hard Mode, by increasing the chance of the Vex dropping, actually decreases the odds of other weapons coming your way. Vision of Confluence dropped 11% of the time on Normal, but only 8% on hard. I've actually been handicapping myself as far as getting this scout rifle. Perhaps we've become too accustomed to Crota, where primary weapons ONLY drop on hard mode, and forgot the rules of VoG. So for people like me- who specifically want that scout rifle- the best bet is to run the normal mode, which has the bonus of being easier and even faster. Statistics- they are your friend. EDIT: I have no clue what the reason behind any of these statistics might be. But it seems to have worked. I got my Vision of Confluence, first try after posting this. It could easily be that my luck turned around and I was due, too. Strange are the ways of RNGesus. Let us praise and fear Him.
