I wouldn't say that destiny is dead, I love it. That being said, I will make the argument that the game most people thought destiny was is dead. When it 1st launched, I was in the crowd that said I would wait until I could get it used so I didn't have to shell out $60+ for a game I didn't know if I'd want to play. After hearing many people claim it was the shortest game the ever played and that it was lacking in many aspects of what I would consider a 'good game' I decided I wasn't going to get it. Then a friend of mine bought me a copy and insisted that I would enjoy it. I was skeptical at first but eventually it grew on me. It helped that I was playing with someone who was a library of knowledge about destiny and that he could tell me what the hell was going on. I still play all the time, got both the expansions, and am looking forward to the next ones. Here is where it gets tricky for me. After doing some research on just what destiny was advertised as long before it's release, i am starting to question the morals of this games developers. I know the only thing really driving any company is money, I'm not that stupid to belive that any company in all of the world has any other objective than that. I mean even a life saving surgery isn't free, no one will save your life with medicine if they don't get paid. However, this game really did sell out hardcore. From what I can tell, Activision turned this game into a money pit for its users, for very little reward. what is really sad about this is that destiny could have been that great game that you play over and over again because it is a great game by itself. Now you have to grind and grind for very little reward and for a lot of money. If this would have been the game that the lead writer composed, with that story, I'd say it'd be the game of the decade. But with activision, that lead writer had to quit because they looked at his story and said "that's great, where's the money?", not surprising that he quit. Imagine being a world renowned classical composer and someone looks at this amazing symphony and says "great! Now let's cut it into a million pecies and give people the fourth movement 1st and make them have to pay for random section from the rest over a few years" ....tragic. So yeah, kinda shady treating people like pigs and throwing us all slop that was once a masterpiece of culinary skill. Now don't get me wrong, I am a destiny fan. I play every day, I get my ass kicked by the Vex and the Thorn in crucible, "fear the players who earn them, not the guns....nerf nothing!" But I carry on, hanging with my buddies online and generally having a great time. I think the best part of this game is the friends you play with, not necessarily the game. The game is just a vessel in which I can have fun with my friends, I think that is where destiny excels. Never had so much fun with my friends online. Could it be better? Of course it could. Could it be worse? Oh hell yes. But all in all I enjoy it, even if I want to throw my controller through my tv while trying to get just one win in one round in the trials, (hey some people are just insanely good, accept it). I will probably keep playing until I want to play something else as much, which in all likelihood will be the new Zelda and Final Fantasy 15....oooooooo I can't wait for those. So is destiny dead? Depends on who you ask and what type of gamer they are. I would say my dreams of what destiny could have been are dead, and rightfully so they aren't going to throw away billions of dollars just because some people hate it, love or not the way it is now is going to be how it is in the future. If you love it now, then have fun. If not, we'll there are plenty of other games out there worth your time. Destiny is definitely not dead for me because I enjoy it still, love hanging with my buddies online, teaming up for iron banner, running 1st timers through raids, trying to beat skolas, even just running patrol and staring out at the view behind the speaker. And I will continue enjoying this game until I have a logical reason to stop doing all those things.....which will probably be the new Zelda and final fantasy . But after that, right back to my buddies and I beating the crap out of enimies and listening to Eris obsess over Crota lol. Thanks for reading

But destiny is the chosen undead it will comeback over and over Til ESO loses it's sanity and cowers in its death because it couldn't perma kill destiny many have tried. None have succeeded.

It's an mmo. It's gonna have a lot of content a lot of story and a lot of fun. I'm getting it, and I'll come back to destiny in September for that month worth of content.

Seriously give it a break guys? NO. You must be a special kind of dumb if you think we should give ESO a break with all their server troubles. We the customer pay for a service that should be met, the gaming company should be competent they knew how many people were going to get their product. Call of Duty has a way bigger player base and their servers never had this kind of trouble in the first couple days. Will ESO kill Destiny? No, not even a close chance, Destiny will kill itself with lack of variety and it's artificial lengthening of gameplay.

A 60$ mmo that has no text chat and still has micro transactions? The game is a joke compared to actual mmo's. If you're on console, go for FFXIV.

ESO failed on PC was voted worst game of the year. Quest were boring, PVP was lackluster and endgame content was trash. It is overall shit with scores as low as 3/10. Just cause your a console player an never played a MMO you are amazed

It's been out for two days? I'm sorry, it was out for PC for a lot longer than two days. The fact they are still having server issues is absolutely laughable. Edit: As well, it's an MMO that no longer requires a subscription. When MMOs do this, it is because hardly anybody was playing, and they're trying to get players with their 'free' play.
