I think this to be true. It's rare that I'm able to make it through the tower without at least one invitation to play some end-game content with someone I've never met before. Optional matchmaking should have been a no-brainier but the MMORPG community disagrees. I firmly believe this meshing of cultures is causing the issues both in-game and in-community as well. CoD vs WoW... A match made in heaven with nothing but chaos at the alter.
