ToO is an abomination
My word is this the cheapest and most unskilled gametype I've ever seen. To think people actually brag about going to the lighthouse.
Guess how they got there? With skill? Nope! By abusing the same tiny selection of OP weapons. Thorn, Last Word, Vex and the Felwinters Sniper. I forgot to mention final round on snipers. Man these players have no self respect or skill.
Personally I'd love to see trials become just MIDAS without shotguns and final round snipers. Just your gun and skill.
Would people go for this? Absolutely not. Scrubs need their crutches and would get demolished in this gametype.
I miss the days of Halo 3 where skill was promoted and where skill exceeded.. If only 343 hadn't messed up so badly with the Master Chief Collection.
Alas I won't lower myself and play trials again until they fix it and it is worthy of my time.
Edit: The comments just proved my point. The horror that you guys would have to use skill. The common advice was to play dirty like they do, admitting they play in a cheap way. I won't lower myself to your scrub ways.
I know your type. You guys are the type to use one man army, danger close and noob tube then brag about getting a nuke. It's not an accomplishment and neither is doing trials with the guns I have listed.
Not one team has done it with just MIDA which again shows these terrible players would get wrecked at Halo 3 the pinnacle of fps.

Final Edit: I will not be replying anymore as I have without question, proved my point. I have seen no compelling argument against what I wrote. On the contrary I have seen a few (Especially Mystics) that support my views and which hopefully educate this simple minded, lacking in skill community.
I have read people say get gid but have kds under 1.5, not even kidding. I have seen people bragging that they did it with some obscure gun without proof. No idea why would they lie. Self esteem issues maybe?
I wish all happiness and I hope that you can try trials and crucible with a little bit of skill and dignity this time.

2 RepliesI used... The Last Word Her Benevolence Tomorrow's Answer And got flawless 9-0, three times. The thing with the last word is that it's inconsistent. I think it needs to be fixed honestly, I love the gun, but the way it works can be broken at times, and then fair at other times, which isn't good. Also, if you can use 4 bullets in the last word to kill someone, then use the next four to kill another, and then use a her benevolence to headshot the last, within 4 seconds as they all try killing you, then you can tell me I have no skill and need a crutch. I actually skillfully use my last word, unlike many. And I use a medium rate of fire sniper, not a praedyths revenge, and not a final round sniper either. I wiped teams of 3, multiple times, by myself, I easily deserve my 3 flawless victories. Cheers, friend.

Didnt have trouble with last rounders in last ToO. Rush and kill them before special drops. Problem solved. Last word and thorn are like BR in halo. Better use them if you magically encounter players with a brain. Personally, I will run this ToO using nothing but my new fusion sniper rifle. I love that thing.

Here are my 2 cents (or pennies, or kopejki huh for those that know :P): The Last Word - Xur sold it last week , i bought it for pvp only. The gun's description is: Yours not mine! Hence, the gun itself tells you its the SHlT when it comes to pvp if you can use it properly, aka have skill. The gun its is not gonna win you fights just because you have it, one missed shot and you might be dead. I dont play too much pvp but i can understand your frustration HOWEVER every time i get killed by a Thorn or any other gun its usually because i missed a few headshots....thats it. Some of the guns may be outbalanced but not by much, come on man atheons epilogue super high rate of fire, but very low impact, hawkmoon - low rate of fire but high impact, last word - high rate of fire but low impact = this is the balance man!!!! What i would class as unbalanced is a hawkmoon with high rate of fire, perfect stability and a high impact, now that's unbalanced! I have seen a team of all thorn users go 0 - 5 to a team without thorns, its not about the guns, it is all about the player.

I think it's most important to use weapons that you're comfortable with; just because everyone else uses a certain setup doesnt mean you have to do the same to win. Sure, my fireteam has come across our fair share of opponents in ToO using the so-called OP weapons listed above, but we've never lost to a team because of the guns they were using. The winning team has always been the better team teamwork-wise. If you find yourself being involved in a lot of 1v1 battles during ToO, you're doing it wrong in my opinion. Instead, communicate with your fireteam and work with them to outplay the enemy. There's always power in numbers; one opponent with the Thorn cannot take down a well-coordinated fireteam on their own.

I find it funny as these player use ghorn thorn vex and we all know the rest. Well if they are truly as great as they say! Then use nothing but legendary's, I've seen it on twitch, someone used nothing but a shotgun

I use red death specifically because of thorn users. It's the only way to counter it at a distance

1 ReplyLol. Halo 3 required no skill. They dumbed that game down for BKs. Random BR spread. Homo equipment like regen and bubble shield. Now Halo 2 required skill. Needed to master the X glitches. Maps were 10 times better as well. I stopped reading when I read that. No credibility at that point.

1 ReplyI don't understand why people complain about weapons before the lag. People who purposely use lag to their advantage. No I'm not talking about the obvious lag switchers. I'm talking about those who purposely lag themselves so they get that 0.5 second advantage over you. People who make you feel like you get one shotted by weapons that have no way of one shotting you, like Thorn, Vex, TLW or RD. People who can get that first shot on you before they even appear on your screen. You should know the difference if you play Crucible long enough. Many casual players just can't notice the difference and just hate on the weapons.
