Actually, #11 is much more likely to happen in matchmade instances while the second #4 is more likely to happen in LFG instances. Here are some sequences of what will happen: 1) People use matchamaking 2) People fail miserably at the content due to being bad, not having sufficient gear and/or experience, not using mics, etc. 3) People cry about the content being too difficult 4) Bungie makes content stupid easy due to all the crying 1) People use matchmaking 2) People go AFK and expect to be carried while they go do something else 3) People get mad and demand the ability to kick people in matchmade instances 4) People abuse the ability to kick and kick people before loot just for fun My general feeling is that if you really find it that inconvenient to spend a couple of second to use a website, then you're probably not the kind of person I want in my groups in more difficult/time-consuming content.

For those that use the lfg options currently available, how does having an optional auto matchmaking in game effect any of them? Don't like the idea of randoms, fine don't use it, go back to the pugs.......
that last sentence makes me feel like I'm in WoW lol
• How does it affect them? Like I said, I worry that Bungie would change the difficulty of content going forward due to the complaints people would make. I wouldn't put it past Bungie to make the content such that having one or two person go AFK would have very little effect on the content.

 • His point is that you can have your well defined groups... you lose nothing... we just want our own matchmaking.

 • I think we would eventually lose interesting and compelling content because Bungie will have to design content to accommodate "matchmakers". Look at PoE at level 28 for example, it is practically brainless. And it's not because it is level 28 being played by level 32+ players. It's just made to be very very simple so that the masses can complete it. So yes, I would still be able to go into content with premade groups. However, that content would just be uninteresting.

 • It wouldn't be that bad if there was checkpoints though...

 • How would that work with matchmaking? What if I had the Crota checkpoint but you didn't? If we get into the same group, where would the raid start? If we can't be in the same group unless we had the same checkpoints then the waiting could take very long. These questions would have to be answered and then coded. I would rather the devs not waste their time on something that will end up backfiring anyways.

 • It doesn't backfire, it may take a while yes, but it works. Don't get me all wrong here, I'm usually VERY against the mm argument. But I'm starting to change my tune. I know checkpoint matchmaking would work because it's in WoW already. If you already have a set group of friends to raid or PoE, then it really won't affect you either way. That is until one of your regulars isn't there and you need someone on that cp.
