At current, our philosophy about endgame content is that part of the challenge includes forming up a team. This is a strong community filled with players who are looking for teammates. Why not seek each other out here and band together?

Edited by emsejay: 11/23/2015 9:33:03 AM
Why not seek each other out here and band together?
Because my daily time window for gaming is 2 hours at best. So your philosophy is for me to waste half of it, only to find people to play with??? Do you want me to actually play your game or do your rather want me to jump through hoops in order to get into your game? I think your biggest problem is, that you don't know your customer base at all. By "strong community" you probably refer to the 10% - 20% that play your game for 8 hours a day (or simply play for a living). Well guess what? The rest simply don't have that much time to spend for your game (or gaming in general). I bet half of your customers bought the game, played through the main campaign, noticed that the rest of the content is inaccessible to them (because jobs, kids, other hobbies, real-life friends, or simply no time) and then moved on to another game. But of course those people are still part of your "25 million" player base. Just face it DeeJ: Your philosophy is wrong!

OPTIONAL matchmaking. Not FORCED matchmaking. The least you can do is provide in game LFG. Now half a year later, still nothing.

Those guys are killing their own game. XD

I agree that OMM should be added. If any one thinks its a bad idea then they do not have to use it. It is that simple. I know that there will be some bad experiences with communication in pug groups. I am a very patient person and would be willing to explain mechanics. I have not done a raid on destiny and I have friends that play but, between work schedules and family we can not set aside time to raid. I have done this in WOW and it worked out the vast majority of the time. You would be surprised how many people are out there that would be just as patient and helpful they are just not on the forums. Most of my friends have not even looked at these forums. They just get on the game and play, and like myself are easy going and patient people.

same here i have been playing destiy since taken king lunch and i have only done nigtfall 10 times or so and only completed vault of glass by accident
-
Just make it optional. Leave the challenge for the raids.
-
I think the proper term is great lip service..."part of the challenge." What a load of crap.
-
So do we get a trophy or an emblem for accepting the 'challenge' of using an external site? Clueless....
-
Hahah seriously that's your point on that? But at least it's a statement so deej thank you for at least once answering a question. Normally all we hear is bla bla bla bla bla so this is a nice change although I cannot agree with your point. Well you are right! obviously for some people it is quite a challenging to find a team but should it really by like this? I don't think so. What is more who are you to decide?? I get its your game but I thought so listen to your community and matchmaking as well as in game LFG is one of the most requested change. I've one question although I highly doubt that I will get an answer. Besides the "challenge" thing there is no reason not to introduce matching or am I wrong?

Hey, if I WANT to flipping take the chance I would. It's not a challenge, its a chore. Trying to find a team that will carry me is just awful. Touch of Malice or you are OUT!
-
Then get a touch.
-
Well Deej you should try telling that to the folks at my school. A few months ago most of them played destiny and now after TTK all I can find are fanboy elitist. So yea you can definitely play with your friends, (so long as they're upper middle class, make their own money, and are willing to waste another forty bucks on another empty DLC. Good job on that by the way.

That's great and all but why do the players have to leave your game to take up that challenge? That answer has no bearing whatsoever on having an in game lfg. Having in game lfg still make players have to look for teams and build up clans, which is what you say you want. There is no logical explanation you can deliver or argument you can muster to being against an in game lfg but still say finding people is what u want us to do. I mean, is it that you people want your player base to be reliant on apps and sites your company doesn't control? What happens to your "end game content" when those 3rd party sites shut down? Do you honestly think players will go out of their way even more to find people? No! They will go to the other games out there now that have a in game matching since it's too much of a bother to try fixing destiny lack of content and availability. You say the end game challenge is to find people. That's great, we don't mind doing that at all. What the player base is sick of is you guys can't get your act together and actually have the option to accomplish what u want the players to do. Tell you what, If u can give us a cogent and logical answer as to why an in game lfg is bad for destiny, we might actually accept that you people know what your doing. Until then, I hope more and more people lose interest in this game. Maybe when your company fails you'll understand the people who pay and play your game are smarter than your corporate big wigs.

Edited by DrCompadre: 11/9/2015 6:14:25 PMGo to any lfg and all you see is must be EXPERIENCED or must be 400 light..I'm always on lfg longs periods of time with no response...I still haven't finished the raid since release

At current, your head is in the sand and your game is headed straight down there toilet.
-
Can we petition to kick this clown off of the forums? This is the feedback forum, and this topic is something we've been asking for since day 1. Yet this prick comes by and disregards it because of his "philosophy". Remember those ToO stats you guys just posted? Imagine that number being way higher with every endgame activity, since that's all you people care about is numbers. Mr. 25 million. Bitch please.
-
Going on 2000 replies and no response? Good job Deej. You're right, there ARE a lot of people looking to team up for end-game activities. But we have NO in-game platform to do so. Get it? That's the problem. Don't want it to be straight matchmaking? Fine, add LFG tags or an LFG "vendor" or something. Especially with the SHARP decline in the community overall (out of 50 or so people on my friends list who used to play Destiny, I personally am down to about 7-10 on a good day), the lack of some form of matchmaking is unsustainable. Of course, the way this game is going presently, the entire game is starting to look unsustainable... so maybe it's a moot point.
-
I'm just gonna say that this reply sucked a year ago and it still sucks now. Glad your developers like the game. The rest of the world think it's designed horribly though.
-
And why not offer more ways for us to band together? I've suggested this dozens of times on the forums and it has gotten ZERO Bungie attention: COLOR-CODED PLAYER FLAGS IN SOCIAL SPACES. - Let me explain briefly: Strikes = Red, NF = Purple, etc. Corresponding "flag" of some kind that is displayed in Guardian nameplate while in social spaces. Let me flag myself for the activity I want a group for and run around Tower looking for others with the same. PROBLEM SOLVED, and you guys didn't even need to add actual MM.
