Fall or Rise of Destiny 2.0

Here lies my dilemma with Destiny. Ever since 343's attempt at a Halo title I have been eagerly awaiting Bungies, expected triumphant return to the FPS realm. I purposely did not read any articles relating to Destiny prior to this, I purely watched the trailer and let the anticipation build. Anyway, on launch day full of glee I booted up the game, lathering at the bit to destroy some aliens and save the world, or moon, ship or whatever I didn't care it was a Bungie game I was in for a rollercoaster ride full of emotion and joy. I played through the first mission, encountered a strange new alien race known as The Fallen. I picked up my very own spaceship, I mean fer-christs-sake my own damn spaceship, Halo eat your heart out! Sadly this was where the joy peaked, and a slow realization crept in. While vibrant and beautifully designed levels were presented to me, coupled with a killer soundtrack, something was missing. It wasn't the lack of Master Chief's presence; I much preferred the ability to create my own tailored avatar. It wasn't the idea premise, Destiny has some solid foundations, it was however the fact that there was no campaign so to speak. I felt like an errand boy being shoved across the same maps, fighting the same enemies in the same situations and being rewarded with confusing loot and tiny snippets of a promising story. Heavy emphasis on 'promising' Gone were the days of having to replay a certain spot in a level dozens of times before you figure out the best ways to flank those crafty alien bastards. Because you were playing the same damned levels with a different story overlay. Now I know Bungie is striving to keep a large active player base on hand, and unfortunately PVP doesn't interest me, or a lot of other people. Because; and I'm not ashamed to admit this, I am crap! I do however enjoy the PVE multiplayer events such as Strikes and The Prison of Elders sounds very promising! Raids however don't appeal to me because I’m not a serious player. Bungie, if you want to keep an ever larger player base, cater for people who love a good campaign, don't dish us up with a glossed over intro to PVP and PVE events. Give us something meaty that we can sink endless hours into, offering new and exciting landscapes with every level. I poured at least 1000 hours into Halo, 2,3 and Reach, each! So finally, the deciding factor..... My decision whether to stay loyal to Bungie or to jump ship to 343 will rely purely on each respective next release. Halo 5 VS Destiny 2. Hell I may even give up on gaming and take up an Amish lifestyle if both disappoint, but secretly I am rooting for and praying Bungie will dust off their shoulders and get back to their roots of telling an epic story, and providing a freaking awesome gameplay format to tell that story. None of which should detract away from the PVP and online experience. Destiny has a lot of promise, I just hope this instalment in the Destiny experience was an experiment with some hard learned lessons and the next will be the real deal. Edit 1
This is even more relevant with the debacle that's occured these past 2 weeks. TTK Pricing - Luke Smith's slap in the face - The farce of an apology and to top it off the condescending RedBull flyer, I still hold a slither of hope, but I fear the Bungie we knew and loved is dead
TLDR Version
If it was too long, you're not old enough to comment, jog on
• Honestly im gonna stick through all this. I'll buy TTK, i'll buy the 2 dlcs after that. I'll even buy destiny 2 but if destiny 2 is no different then this one then im giving up entirely on the franchise. I love this game but all the potential in everything i see is pissing me off haha

Destiny 2 isn't going to come out for years. If it ends up dropping 2017 than Halo 5 would be considered an old game by then. Why wait to compare Halo 5 with Destiny 2? Destiny one will get better. In September a new expansion for the game will drop and that might actually be what you should be comparing with Halo 5.

      • I was on X box 360 but now I'm on Ps4! I agree with you, Halo was so much fun to Play the Story with a friend! In Destiny it's hard work to help a friend through the Story but only because it's anoying! I play Raids and hardly ever PvP. The RAID is the most fun part at this game! You missed something important! ;) I was also so exited the first few Storys but suddenly the Devil Liar strike was Open for me! I saw the big scarab and thought holy crap can I capture this vehicle and destroy it from the inside? Maybe you guessed it I ended up dead! ;) I also miss a Warthog or the scorpion or a hornet! Damn I even miss some big enemys vehicles, which I could destroy with my launcher! Finally I have to say I like Destiny and espacially the 6 man Endgame Challange but Halo have always a Place deep in my heart. I hope you Understand everything and you don't care about my Bad grammar! Best
