More Metal Gear Online to be shown at E3.
edit: More info from European gaming press
In this mission, Episode 6 (“Where do the bees sleep?”), I’m 4% into the game, at about 7 hours of gameplay, give or take.

Obviously, I can’t talk a whole lot about it right now. But it feels like Peace Walker blown out to huge, open-world proportions.

So far, I’ve Fulton rescued people, supplies, and…a massive bear. The bear was very challenging! Took 10 tranq darts. In addition to soviet troops, I’ve also encountered mysterious super soldiers on this mission. These “Skulls” are very fast, and are clearly biomechanical in nature.
Gamespot's Peter Brown Twitter Q&A:
Q: Can you still tranq/cqc skulls or are they like snatchers in jamais vu where something is preventing anything but outright killing?
A: they are so strong that I wouldn’t dare try at this point.
Q: How was the weapon variety/recoil? Do the guns feel meaty?
A: There are a lot of weapons at the moment, many w/unique characteristics.
Q: How does open world MGS feel? Open world games generally have quests, stuff to explore and find.
A: Lots of that so far. Both prescribed and organic
Q: Are there any map restrictions?
A: None that I’m aware of at the moment, but I’ve been focusing on missions.
Q: These biomechanical soldiers, can you give us some more info on them? Do they talk or make noises? Any info would be great
A: They didn’t talk. They’re commanded by someone familiar, however. Can’t say more.
Q: Have you been introduced to new characters? Yes or no would do :) can understand your position!
A: Yes.
Q: How has the enemy ai been?
A: A good mix, actually.
ExtraEye's Francesco Fossetti Twitter Q&A:
Is it a technical improvement over GZ?
“Some texture effects are not as good, but environments immensely more wide!”
What is not as good?
“Certain textures, bump map type. But the code isn’t final!”
Was it the PS4 version? Is it at the level of the E3 trailer?
“PS4 version. I’d have to rewatch the trailer but the quality is really high!”
Does it run at 60FPS?
“All 60. Dips almost absent, really sporadic and mostly during cut scenes.”
How deep is the MB customization system?
“Very deep, well implemented even if initially not too intuitive. You can build bridges, place armies and create divisions of soldiers with specific tasks who can help you during missions (recon, gadget development).”
Can you request an intervention of a squad of soldiers from Mother Base, or just support helicopters?
“For now support. Recon, supply drop, bombings.”
Has the ‘open’ approach to boss fights convinced you, or do you lose something?
“The first I have encountered! And it’s beautiful!”

Regarding Kojima, Konami said they will provide clarity soon. In the game however, he is present everywhere, from the titles to the posters.

Would not surprise me if Konami cancels this too.
-
So is Kojima finally coming out of hiding
-
relevant: Konami takes down critic's video, YouTube reinstates it.
-
This game is going to make me drop out of University, destroy every personal relationship I have and cause my virginity to grow back. Hyped. As. -blam!-.
-
I want to play this since it pisses off SJWs

Edited by Kafuu Chino: 5/14/2015 9:46:37 PMNew impressions from European press.
Mission throws in bonus objectives – free a political prisoner being transported, or ambush an arms truck for rocket launcher. Snipe out truck driver (the weapon feels great, by the way) and steal his truck to reach distant tanks. But! Manage to drive tank off cliff. Guard below sees me, so game enters slow-mo reflex mode as I fall. Thelma and Louise moment.

Tonally, this mission is played quite straight – but have no fear, the game does feature full-on Kojima madness, too. My favourite part? You can steal tapes of 80s pop songs and play them mid-mission as your own soundtrack. Blowing up tanks to The Man Who Sold the World is pretty spectacular. I also upgraded my iDroid so I can play music out loud [through the speakers] – not great for stealthy runs, but good for dramatic entrance.

Someone asked Mathew Castle whether he thinks the game has the potential to be Game of the Year, to which he replied: “It’s properly amazing, yeah.”

The Afghan map seems to be decisively large, made up of sections but while flying it’s possible to explore it without exiting or loading. On your way to the destination there are always outposts to capture or materials to obtain. The materials are obviously for all the personalizing and upgrades in the game. For example, in mission 6 I’ve upgraded the Fulton system, now aside from persons I can also send heavier things to the base.Regarding Kojima, Konami said they will provide clarity soon. Cinematically presented and quite a number of WTF moments.

Regarding Kojima, Konami said they will provide clarity soon. Jokes on them, I'm going full war crimes mode in MGSV by doing a full out lethal playthrough
-
Hopefully we get one last trailer at E3.
-
Hype.
But -blam!- Konami.
-
holy shit, zeke got an upgrade...
-
Apparently this game is around 150+ hours without doing any of the optional stuff. Also missions can take anywhere between 20 minutes to 6 hours to complete. That's what I read somewhere else.
-
Hypehypehyoehyepejshsn I'm so hyped
-
Is this their last game?
-
F*ck that game, not playing it OUT OF SPITE for canceling Daryl Dixon.
-
Not my thing but I can see the appeal, prequel/demo looked stunning.
-
I can't wait for this game. To bad its kojima's last with konami. Was hoping for more with him. Heard konami will reboot this series and make a movie off that. Already going in the wrong direction though, got some no name talent to make. Don't know why they didn't want David hayter. You can look up info from a you tuber call "e yong" or something like that.
-
Quite should be able to head bounce.
-
Interesting. I just hope Konami doesn't pull the plug on MGO in 2 years and turn it into a paid service to play. That would be disappointing but I could see it happening with Konami, at least appearing, to be aggressively leave the gaming market. It'll be funny to see if they will still have their showcase booth open at E3 this year after what's happened in this short year.
-
This will more than likely be the last great MGS game. Hopefully it lives up to the hype.
Bump
You can pet DD's belly. GOTY
Hanging out with my wolf pup pal on Mother Base. He likes getting his belly scratched.
