  • He was scared. What was he thinking? Facing the darkness alone? Where was the rest of his fireteam? Why was he in the forest? All of these questions and more just kept popping into his head. He would have kept on thinking when suddenly, he heard a scream. It was a scream of which he had never heard before. It was a scream of pure terror. He found his auto riffle laying next to him, picked it up, and ran towards the scream. After several minutes of running, he saw an opening. There, he saw fallen. But these fallen were different. One thing that stuck out the most was that they had no banner. He didn't know what house they were from. But that could be dealt with later. The most disturbing thing that he saw was that there was a captain standing over a table, holding a shock blade in one hand, and a severed human head in another. He almost threw up. Never in his life as a guardian had he seen fallen do a human sacrifice. He was about to charge and kill the fallen for doing such horrible things to a human, when he saw a lense flare in the distance. At first he was relieved, thinking that there was another guardian about to help. He was confident that he wouldn't need to fire a bullet as the fallen started to fall like flies. Then he realised something so obvious, that he felt stupid afterwards for not realising it sooner. You could only see a lense flare if it was aiming at you. Smoggy called upon the void for a shield that can withstand anything. A shield formed around him, just in time to hear the -ping- as a sniper round was absorbed by the shield. Three secconds later he heard the sound of the riffle that shot at him. Sound was slower than a bullet apparently. But that wasn't important. What was important was that he was just shot at by a guardian. When he looked at where he last saw the lense flare, he saw that it was gone. Smart. Any sniper wouldn't shoot at someone from the same place twice. He was starting to calculate where the guardian had gone when he remwmbered. The fallen! How could he have forgotten. He was looking back at their camp, not surprised to see that they had left. He felt a moment of despair when his shield fell. As he was looking for a lensw flare, his motion tracker beeped. He turned, and nearly laughed to see a dreg trying to approach him. This would be easy. As the dreg saw him approach, its eyes squinted and were then filled horror. Good, let them fear me. He was about to punch its lights out when he realised the dreg wasn't looking at him. It was looking at something behind him. It him like a truck. Litteraly. He was thrown off his feet and went tumbling into a tree. The captain that he saw earlier was standing right behind where he once stood. Instead if charging him like most would do, it unsheathed its sword, looked at it, and threw it to the ground. He did the same to its shrapnel launcher and shock pistol. It then ponted at me. Then at my weapon. Then to the ground. I understood. It wanted to fight, a fair fist fight (if fair could be used to describe a fight between a 300 pound alien and a trained titan). I threw down my auto riffle and got into my fighting stance. It approached. We stood, facing each other for a good 10 secconds. Then it started. It ran at me, trying to use its size as an advantage. But it didn't realise that i was trained to kill enemies 3x its size. After we exchanged a few blows, and i learned its fighting style, i went on the offensive. I kept punching it, over and over again. It was almost boring. Until it caught my hand. It just grabbed my hand mid-punch. I tried attacking with my left, until it was grabbed by its other hand. Its grip was like iron. It lifted me off the ground until i was eye level with it. It stared at me with its cold, black eyes. It then began to punch me in the chest with it's other two arms. I had never been so helpless. After what seemed like an eternity, i finally gave up and just kept on letting it hit me. It hurt to breathe. My vision was fading. I would only remain consciounce for another minute. To think that i would die, alone in the forest, helpless, and without hope. And then i saw something. A lense flare. I couldn't die, not while there was a guardian killing other guardians. I had to tell the soeaker. So with the last of my strength. I activated my fist of havoc. Of course it wasn't as powerful as normal, and of course i couldn't slam the ground, but i did manage to fry the captain. Its body lit up as arc power coursed through his very being. It dropped him and just fell backward. I guess he was shocked to see that i still had some fight left in me. The dreg was long gone by now. He saw the flare jump up and he rolled to the side just in time to hear a bullet hit the earth. I had to run, as fast as i could, to the tower. Then he remembered. MY GHOST!! He felt a moment of joy only to be crushed as a part of his memory returned. His ghost was destroyed by the fallen. DAMNIT! I have to go on foot. He would have to play as the hunted for a while. Hours turned into days. Days turned into weeks. And weeks turned into months. He had not been able to reach the tower, and he had not been able to rest, for every few days, he would turn around just in time to see a lense flare jump up. Months turned into years. It had been three years since the fight, three years since he had woken up in the middle of no where. He was still being hunted. But then he found it. The city wall. He almost cried because of how happy he was to see it. He found the front and fellow guardians, when they saw him, they screamed and aimed their weapons at him. He was confused. He was a guardian. He was a titan. He used fist of havoc and called for a ward of dawn. Why were they looking at him like he was a monster. He found a puddle, and looked at his reflection. He screamed. What he saw was horrifying. What he saw was indeed a monster. He was a manifestation of darkness itself. But he had the abilities of a guardian. A creature of darkness born from light. Then he remembered everything. The fight with the hive on earth, he was captured, and his fire team arrived too late. When they enteted the room, he killed them all and destroyed his own ghost. He wandered earth only to find hatred everywhere. Why? Why must there be so much hatred? He looked at the titans trembling with fear.... They must pay!
