DO NOT NERF handcannons, Just BUFF AUTORIFLES

This would basically balance everything out without reducing the damage for anything! Then people could counter thorn/tlw/Hawkmoon by using autorifles Because both have around the same range thus making the niche that they fit in more competitive, and both weapon types are good enough to compete with each other. What are the communities thoughts? EDIT: keep the bumps and support coming, let's let bungie hear us!

  • How about... Rather than asking for blanket Nerfs/Buffs to entire classes of weapons, we ask Bungie to take a good, hard look at the specific weapons, stats, and effects, that are causing the imbalance in the first place? Just because Thorn and TLW and Hawkmoon are more or less considered the all-time most OP weapons right now doesn't mean that every other handcannon in the game should take a hit. The same was true for SUROS and the AR nerf. I'm sure many of you remember what happened there. And I'm sure you've all thought carefully about the impact this might have on the PvE side, right? ...Right? When the Vex Mythoclast first surfaced in the Crucible and Bungie realized that it was in a league of its own, they were quick to correct it. So it's certainly possible for them to tweak a single, specific weapon. However, with this PvP "balance" they effectively destroyed any possibility of it being an effective option in PvE. Which was BAD. When Bungie tried to "Buff" Red Death, with a lower impact and quicker rate of fire, they found that the community was actually happy with the weapon's performance despite all the complaints saying otherwise. Luckily, they repaired the damage with the recent Pulse Rifle Buff, but left the rate of fire the same. Hence why you see so many of them in the Crucible now. Instead of making the weapon balanced, they made it perfect for PvP. Which was BAD. If Bungie took more time to REALLY nail down the causes for imbalance amongst a particular set of weapons and implemented specifically tailored changes in response, they would almost certainly achieve a greater sense of overall weapon balance than they've produced with the previous patches. As it is now, the players are concerned with using the strongest weapons instead of the weapons they themselves personally enjoy. Both skilled and unskilled players alike are all running around with the exact same loadouts because that's the easiest way to win. TL;DR Specific weapons require specific fixes, blanket nerfing/buffing causes more imbalance than it seeks to fix. Kindly, MAD X HOUSE
