CATERPILLAR occurs when you are having trouble connecting to or maintaining a connection to Destiny matchmaking servers. If this is the first time you’ve received this error, please try again and resume what you were doing before the error occurred. This error can also be hit if you log out of your account while Destiny is running. If you encounter the issue a second time, please exit Destiny and relaunch the game.
That said, there was a general server error that occurred quite recently on the Xbox (ignore if PS). I'm pretty sure it's just a one time thing, so you should just try again later.

I've never gotten these errors before, yet today I can't even play 10 minutes without being disconnected

Are you on Xbox? There's been a server issue affecting Xbox users, so unless you are on PS, you will have trouble connecting to the servers. If you are on PS, try connecting again tomorrow. It is most likely a server problem on Bungie's side, so for the time being, double check whether its your side that is having trouble maintaining connection.

I'd go more with trying again latter. Internet access around here is fine I have a teenage kid trust me I'll know if something is off with the net the second it happens.

Even more caterpillar errors but my network connection is fine only Destiny issues

Recently there was a server error for Xbox, so unless you are on PS, you're probably feeling the effects of it. Give it sometime to subside and try again.

Then it may be a server side problem. Try connecting again in a few hours and tell me how it goes.
