Reporting cheaters is, in fact, an option! Go into the menu, click on the player, and simply report them for cheating.
But, the player might not be cheating at all and could just be running on a bad connection. I suggest messaging them and asking before you jump to any conclusions.

its mostly just bad internet or connection to server. Unfortunately I have to play over mobile hotspot at my house (no land lines) and the connection varies wildly, I have been accused of lag switching, and abused because of it. But just because good internet is not available here doesn't mean I shouldn't be aloud to play, or be abused. I already feel guilty about it when people send me msgs. The bottom line is there is something wrong with Destiny's servers, I know 2 other players on ps4 that live within a klm of each other, they have both got fibre, and with the same provider yet they always differ with connections. P.s if I have played against you in crucible and lagged everywhere I'm sorry. I really am, Im not a cheater. I'm just underprivileged. But I love this game and I'm not going to stop playing because your internet is better.

You shouldn't have to learn what a lag switch is from simply playing crucible often. Would like to see how 'reports' are handled. Bungie is so vague, makes me lean towards the side where they don't really do anything about it.

I played crucible once, ONCE, and someone threatened to report me for "lag switching". Dude, I barely know how to work my Xbox, I have idea what a "lag switch" even is. And that's the last time I played crucible. Not gunna play and have someone threaten me for having bad internet.

there are people who accuse too who rather point fingers because their losing ,or think so because the group riled up together in frustration.those who are innocent have nothing to fear..

If you're not doing anything wrong, then you have nothing to worry about.

The problem here is that they know they're cheating if they are doing this and theu would never tell you so unless it's some naive kid that has no idea what they're doing is cheating. Therefore, watch for a connection that consistently changes from a Green connection to a Red connection during skirmishes with other players, just to come back up Green again after you've all been killed. Otherwise, do not report a player for cheating. Another way is to see if they're on a red connection during other events of they are on your friends list becasue we all know that some are.

And they do so in game. Not always in messages. For the most part they stay silent. Only idiots admit to cheating in writing. When they do they subject themselves to the possibility that the messages will be forwarded to Bungie and they'll be banned. Asking if someone is lagswitching isn't the best route to take. People lie about stupid shit.lol

\_(0_0)_/ It's, personally, never failed me. Most of the people that lagswitch have no idea what they're doing. The silent cheaters you mentioned, don't do so within the game.

But if they are lag swtiching ( which is bloody obvious to anyone who has been playing online games for the last few years and very obvious to those who have been playing fps's even longer). Why on earth would they admit it? I know that SOME of your customers are stupid enough to tell us all in this forum that they 'budget lag swtich' by streaming/downloading while playing destiny, but most people are not that dumb! On a side note: You don't seem to punish them for admitting that they mess with the connection to cheat.Why is this? You have their gamertag etc. Currently the cheats can brag about what they do on the official forums and NOT get pulled up on it.MADNESS!!"!!! This is really your issue not ours, its not our responsibility to be running pings on users so that we can see the state of their connection and look for blantant cheating activity.
