To my knowledge, when someone attempts to use a lag switch on crucible it just kicks the user from the game due to there being no servers, Destiny functions on a player to player connection. But what may have happened is there is that a lot of people in the match had bad connection causing severe lag to all players in the match due to the player to player connection.

I would agree with you if i hadn't googled them and seen the effects with my own eyes, yes if you hold your switch for too long you will get booted, but there's a good 3-4 second leeway between flipping the switch and getting kicked, otherwise people who push crota off the back would get kicked too, bungie doesn't have a problem banning those guys.

Yeah I knew about the crota thing but I've always heard it was pretty much an instant kick in crucible
