Make it so you can't equip anything to make your exotic look different. And so you can't equip cosmetic exotics that way say a Titan defender has saint 14 on you know not to go in the shield but if you equipped exotics over other things you'd have no idea if he had a blinding ward of dawn or two grenades.

They could simply disable visual affects while in a pvp setting instead of that.
