I think the Blades were removed from Patrol because Bungie wanted to give the impression that time had moved on and Crota is finally dead. (Yes you can still kill him in the raid, this is for storyline purposes.)
If you want to still complete the Eris bounties, you can do this through the Fist of Crota mission. The Blade is still there, unlike the open world.

That seems highly, HIGHLY unlikely. People who are just starting to play or have otherwise created a new character have not yet killed Crota. This change affects everyone. It seems far, far more likely to be a bug. You need TDB, a Level 20 character, and the ability to kill a Level 24 Knight—instead of Level 11—to complete the bounty, not to mention abandoning an incomplete mission in an update focused on improving completion rates.

It's actually not unlikely at all. Deej's weekly update has included a comment about them. It goes something like this: [quote]Players have reported that the Blades are not appearing as they where. If you still want to do the bounty then you can complete it by selecting the Fist of Crota mission.[/quote] It's not exactly word for word but you can check for yourself by reading it that I'm not making it up. The point is the Dark Below story arc is coming to an end and now we are moving on to the House of Wolves. Consider each of the missions a point frozen in time. The open world is more here and now. Crota is dead, Earth and the City is safe from the Hive for now. Now the guardians have received a request from the Queen to hunt down her treacherous Wolves.

BTW, if the explanation that "Crota is dead" was the right one, they would have to remove [i]everything[/i] having to do with Crota; essentially the entire Dark Below content, including the raid where you kill Crota [i]again[/i].

And I've explained it using what information Bungie has given. It's simple really, you want to do the bounty you will have to go to the Fist of Crota. FYI you only need to kill the blade then exit the mission. Rinse and repeat until done.

Just sayin' ..BUNGIE! Not broken, don't fix it!! Put the Blades back! Shouldn't have to do a mission over and over just to kill some blades!! Besides the bounty says to kill blades on Earth and Moon! Should I just do the Omnigul mission over and over as well?

Concerning the vex....that was a specific sect of vex who worshipped that not the entire race of vex....I read that somewhere within the grimorie, just an fyi.
