Bungie. It is a place, a place casting shadows and emotion. It's a virtual place, I know. One new community manager, say. And other admins too. Five? I like seven better. What I'm recalling is a giant topic with a family of six smaller topics, and you could spend days and nights counting all of the comments under those topics...except there are no comments. Not anymore. The powers in charge have removed all of the comments, and maybe a like or two for good measure. With that anger, they fashioned a absolutely destructive enclosure, a twisting of code and programs sealed behind doors that admit only those who know the passwords. The codes of a hundred comments have been cut smooth and pasted out like a forum, a polished and lovely forum creating vast conversation spaces. A forum bigger than ten thousand comments, catching the fierce glory of the seven admins. For tips, for suggestions. For beauty. And nothing escapes. Not hate, not gjallarhorn. Not even the faintest proud troll. It could be anywhere. It can live in the cold between servers, or folded up inside a processer, near enough to touch right now... I remember it and maybe it's exactly as I describe it. Seven admins wrapped inside logic. Or it's something else entirely, perhaps. A forum still fat with hype. An abundance of sentient users, some decent, maybe a few of lesser quality, and everybody writes about or reads about, or they bounce between topics. The point is that the residents of this hidden forum live inside a drive so perfectly hidden that they can't see beyond their own pages. Which shapes a mind in very specific ways. But, bungie is their name for a mysterious, doubtful realm that they can't see. Which is us, of course. Hope I win!
