Why do people do crota normal first and then hard?

I just want Black Hammer from normal mode, and maybe Hunger of Crota though I'm already stocked up on good solar launchers. I already have the Swordbreaker and Song of Ir Yut and I'm not really interested in the fusion rifle. All I need from hard mode now is Oversoul Edict and the crux. I haven't raided Crotas End all that much so I'm pretty happy with my loot so far.
