Iron Banner 50,000 times, Inferno, the Trials of Osiris.
Why is Bungie OBSESSED with PvP?
No one plays it... so why?
EDIT: Yes, I've played Halo. Just look at my profile. Destiny's Crucible is nothing compared to any Halo's multiplayer.

Idiot

Pvp is great. Maybe you just suck and only want to kill the AI because you've got no gun skill.
-
PVP is where you really test your skill...not spamming ghorn rockets at adds. Complaining about PVP in Destiny is like complaining about open world in witcher 3. IT'S WHAT THE GAME IS P.S. I do enjoy PVE, just making a point
-
Oh yes all the story missions, strikes, night falls, 2 raids, prison of elders. Clearly shows where their priorities lie. Stop crying
-
They aren't. It's their compensation for the lack of PvP gameplay in the base game. I was hyped for the PvP and now I'm practically a PvE only player due to not having enough return after putting hours into it. It also helped that the PvE elements kept me way more engaged. Then they started to come out with all these PvP attractions, and I started to spend less time grinding strikes and raids. Day one Crucible was the most bleh game mode I've ever played competitively. Now it's not, kudos on that Bungie.

This Queen bounty, and Prison with some Elders in it is Okey, but... Really!!!?

What are you on about 1) iron banner is every month 2) trials is every week end 3) PvE players ( me being one of them ) get a lot of stuff raids, strikes, the arena, lots of missions, weekly activities if you complain about PvP getting all the attention your a dip shit
-
Yes! Finally someone in a post forum said that crucible is nothing like the Halo multiplayer!
-
I'm mainly a pve. That's where 90% of my time goes but I love when IB and Osiris are open. I play them every time.
-
Because the PVE content can't keep gamers engaged so the want us to create original experiences for them by playing each other.
-
Demographics. This game depends on 2. PvEers, who focus mainly on single player story, quests, raids, etc PvPers, who do the same towards MP gameplay. This game CANNOT survive on one alone, so they're doing everything they can to cater to the demo that are the most likely to pick and leave, for another game
-
Cause Activision is all about dudebro shooters so thats why they have to care about it
-
Because Halo, nuff said...
-
Nobody plays PvP? I almost stopped reading. Anyway, I would argue they're not obsessed enough with it. No theatre, no customs, terrible matchmaking (or lackthereof), no integrated clan features, no leaderboards, weak stats/weak carnage reports/limited records, I could keep going.

PvP makes for easy replay value

Although I agree somewhat on Bungie being obsessed with PvP, or at least that's what it seems...I have to agree PvP is a great asset and escape for the game. PvP is also fun and gets many players to reaching their goals such as getting to level cap and all. I must say though that PvE should be more rewarding and more productive to play than PvP. This game is based on PvE so it should reflect that, but sometimes it doesn't seem that way. Bungie is moving in the right direction lately and I'm hopeful that they'll turn around the PvE experience and just get better with every new update, DLC and even Destiny 2. We shall see...

It's a lot easier to build a level and let the players need the content, than it is to design challenging and interesting content. Also, even good AI gets predictable. Humans are more unpredictable, keeping things somewhat fresh.
-
Even in PvE centric MMO's there is a pretty healthy PvP population. People enjoy PvP. Not everyone though. The problem with games like Destiny is being new, it is very thin on PvE content. People can only do the same raid so many times before it bores them. Those folk tend to find more enjoyment in the PvP side of things. FPS games tend to have a hell of a lot of players that enjoy PvP. If Bungie isn't going to fire out content on a regular basis, what is currently there won't keep everyone around for long. What does keep a good portion of the playerbase around is PvP. Like it or not, without PvP Destiny would lose a decent sized chunk of it's playerbase.
-
PvE has always had more content and this is the first time PvP has gotten any sort of spotlight
-
As much as everyone wants some PvE events let's look at it from a business point of view...a lot of Destiny's player base has fell off during this time of limbo between expansions. PVP is really the only thing that offers anything "new" right now and if Bungie didn't implement these events at times like these you know damn well this game would be dead. (Not completely dead, but you get my point)
-
Dont you get tired of beating up npc's? Its been a week or since i played pvp but it was always fun. Even when i couldnt land a hit on people i was still furiously happy lol
-
coz scrubs
-
In my humble opinion PvP tends to always give me a changing experience because you know people change according to what is going on. For PvE not so much. Last time I checked AIs didn't adapt and they just show up in hordes with a number of bullet sponges... Idk I just tend to like PvP more because PvE has gotten stale to me.

I love PVP like I play more PVE but PVP in destiny is a Challenge and well is just fun so if u don't play it get over it and maybe they have PVP Events to get people in to it

Edited by LordChocoSlime: 4/2/2015 9:58:12 AMPersonally, I began playing Destiny for PVE. Aside from a few random rounds of Goldeneye 64/Perfect Dark splitscreen multiplayer on the N64 years ago, I was never a big fan of FPS PVP. That became even more apparent as I drudged my way through the Exotic Weapon Bounties for Thorn, Invective, and Bad Juju. Sure, it was challenging, I had some pleasant moments, and I completed ALL three of those bounties. However, getting killed as soon as you respawn, getting 1-shot by players spamming Supers, resorting to shotguns/fusion rifles just to improve your chances of completing Thorn/Invective's bounties without dying too much (some deaths are beyond your control), and getting "positive" feedback from teammates such as "u r sooooooo bad" practically killed my interest in PVP altogether. I understand that PVP is a popular mode for some players to a point where they ONLY buy a game for its PVP, but Bungie should have considered an equal amount of special events for PVE AND PVP to cater towards both crowds. Ideally, the PVE events (e.g. limited time Strikes/Raids, defend the Tower, reconnaissance missions, randomly generated "dungeon," hoard mode) would be in rotation as often as PVP's Iron Banner, Inferno, Doubles, Salvage, and the long awaited Trials of Osiris. Instead, PVE only had one event so far (Queen's Wrath) and it haven't returned since its debut. Sure, PVE tends to follow a predictable format in terms of enemy behavior, but not everyone enjoys PVP. If PVP is such a big component, then why are there many games that cater towards PVE? Oh, and there are ways to make PVE unpredictable (randomly generated level designed, randomized enemies and locations, random mission modifier).

And we're forced to endure the this piece of shit for marks and commendations to buy stuff from faction vendors.
